Thanks guys. I actually already frequent the figure athlete site and it definitely has a lot of good information there. I love this site so i just do both. I have been doing a personal journal but i know that if i actually posted here you guys could give me some feedback (or they could there). I have tried looking up some figure competitions and i dont see any coming up near here for awhile. Maybe i will try to look that up again because i...

No. I eat much worse. Is it a lean cut of steak? Either way, you'll be fine. Make sure you're getting plenty of fiber in your diet if it worries you.

I sell my plasma on Tuesdays and Thurs. each week. at a plasma donation place. I lift M/W/F. Do any of the scholarly types around here know/can find out if donating plasma will interfere w/ muscle production? I'd greatly appreciate it! -John

After thinking about it, that could get somebody hurt. Say you come back ,don't notice they are gone, going to failure and it gets away from you. You would'nt be expecting the plates to slide on one side.

It tastes great and is a good source of protein and natural creatine. However, it takes more work to digest and eating too much can cause g.i. problems. I would suggest alternating with chicken.

Trainers...are they necessary?
Published (2009-01-06 01:45:06)
Necessary, maybe not depending where you are at in your training, i.e., novice or expert. I would say that a trainer could push you past points you thought unattainable, when you start out, and they can give you tips on what to do for these types of comps that you might not know about unless you had experience. I would recommend one. You already said most of the ways I would look for a personal figure comp. trainer except going to an actual...

If you are interested in doing a figure show and want to get a trainer I would suggest getting a nutritionalist. The diet is the tricky part of any show. For the training aspect you can get a ton of info and help for free on this site or http://www.figureathlete.com/index.jsp (aimed towards figure athletes) Not to push you away from this site , but I'm sure you will find more people over there who have been through or going through. We don't often come across short stories featuring bodybuilders. I'm an ex-hardcore bodybuilder, now a physician and writer of fiction. Here's a link to one of my stories, JACKED, published online at a cool crime fiction zine, Thuglit. If you dig it, let me know, I can post a few others. http://www.thuglit.com/zine/thug16/docs/jacked.pdf Enjoy! GG

So im back in the gym and notice its full, its that time of year where all the newbies start. They normaly give up in a couple of weeks, but today im doing my bench presses (free weights) and when i do them i always put those clips at the end of the bars, to stop the plates falling off. Better to be safe than sorry. Anyway ive done my warm ups and my first two sets. I get up to go for water, the...

I eat a steak and fries at work each night for dinner. I've heard that that much steak can be bad. It's about a 6-8 oz steak, I'd say. At regular weight, I'd say I'm about 220 lbs. Does this steak a day sound bad?

I like everthing from Steinbeck to Playboy... and every now and then, I come across a book that is so f'in entertaining that I have to pass it on. The book is called "I HOPE THEY SERVE BEER IN HELL" by Tucker Max. Fair warning: if you are a woman, or a dude whom is easily offended, then THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR YOU! That being said... it's the funniest book I've read in years. It's not ...
