I blame previous generations without a better appreciation for the wonders of latex. Remote Digital cameras are a lot cheaper these days. As much as I don't like the idea of Big Brother if they could be used practically in these situations after LEOs'ran their plates and determined the vehicles hadn't been stolen I'd put their mugshots up on a billboard.

( It sounds like the sheriff's department did not call the rangers, either. If not, I wonder why. Well, anyway, I'm glad you're safe and that the sheriff's deputy used at least some common sense. I don't know what to say about the hunter. I guess it's nice that someone cares. You weren't in the Superstitions, were you? , )

LOL There is no obligation to Not make noise while hiking along the trails, but it often brings about a serious case of indignation for spooking the game, as well. Each person must figure out what works for them. Seriously, wearing Orange is good self defense. It is the hunter's responsibility to verify ...

( It is sad. Hopefully our NP's stay intact. My family has watched the Olympic National Park go downhill for years. A lot of the original trails have disappeared altogether and the staffing of the system has been hit really hard. Our family does quite a bit of volunteer work as many others do, but it's just a bandaid on a big, ugly wound so to speak. ,
)
