The only thing I can suggest is you try and get the data recovered. Depending on where you are, or I guess more to the point, this can be an expensive exercise. I had a hd fail on me, I got my data recovered for $80AUD, however data recovery can run into the $100's of dollars. Get some quotes, or better yet if you have a friend who knows how to do data recovery

Drivers for hardware? If so, don't worry about this. Uninstall what you can from device Manager, and don't worry about the rest.

I would try another program, e.g. ImageBurn ( The Official ImgBurn Website ) - or if you happen to have Roxio on your system. That is pretty good too.

Thanks for the following info. I used the file: epsonScan_1.0_Per1200Win64eu.zip - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage link to get the 1200u driver for my Vista 64bit. After downloading and following the instructions, my Perfection 1200u is working with my new Adobe Elements 7 software. I am a very happy camper as I thought I was going to have to throw away a good scanner....

Welcome to Vista Forums.
Have you tried running the installer with Compatibility Mode in XP mode and 'run as admin.'
Hope this helps. It worked for my Oki.

Thank you so much! all i can say is god bless the internet because epson's only solution was to buy a new scanner. this works perfectly. i'm unable to launch it through photoshop but maybe with some googling i'll find out how to do that also. Your'e the best vistax64user!!

No problem. Go to Canon Global and click on the link to your area on the world map. Put i9100 Photo Printer drivers into the search. Press enter key on your keyboard. It will take you to that printer's page. Click on ;Download Drivers'. Select OS. it will take you to a page for your x64 drivers.
