just dont get a new peugeot they are absolute crap, my father almost got killed in his 58 plate peugeot expert 1.6Hdi. The ecu switched the engine off due to a "anti-pollution fault" as he was pulling out of a junction. The van went into limp mode for 2-3 seconds before it died Not much fun for the truck driver who ran into the central reservation in order to miss him Who decided the ecu should cut the engine if the emissions arent...

A really common fault (just do a websearch). You need to plug in a diagnostic(ELM units cheapest on Ebay) to get a fault code - and/or reset the one in there. My uncle had a 406 with recurring fault which peugeot couldn't find. They replaced no end of sensors/wires and eventually the ECU. Not occured again since ECU changed, but I'm convinced it was just a dodgy wiring/plug connection. If only the bloody things could be...

My ten year old boiler cut out right in front of Christmas, almost as bad when you can't repair it easily yourself. Modern stuff really is awful - it would be only slightly better if it would genuinely, economically last 30 years with specialist equipment/knowledge. That it lasts less than ten years AND costs a fortune before it is made obsolete/wears out is completely crackers. My cars run and run with only fresh oil and filters, with...

New Honda Civic

I should have replied to this a while ago! I spent a breif period working in the Honda factory in swindon. Whilst Honda don't officially support the use of biodiesel, all of their onsite security vehicles use bio made from wvo from the factory canteen. The vehicles are the new crv - they share the same engine as the civic. As far as I know there are no problems.

Hi, I have a Passat 1.9 TDI estate running on 80% biodiesel, done 7000 on this ratio so far. No problems with quality biodiesel. Ramped it up to 100%, it was "ok" but struggled as if hunting when I drove fast. Will stick to 70-80%, smokes a lot on start up though, clears when the engine warms up. 1.9 8v TDI I4 diesel 1,896 cc (1.896 L; 115.7 cu in) 130 PS (96 kW; 130 hp) @4000 rpm ...

cant see what the injectors could have to do with it unless the ecu has decided to put a stop on them, but the main candidate might be the in tank pump not supplying the necessary pressure...needs an expert really, probly with a laptop. All the injectors could not suddenly be off, or leaky, unless the computer told them so. sounds like a non bio thing anyway.

I started to read that then gave up at the 3rd line It's almost impossible to read without formatting. Please redo it but using full stops and press enter every now and then to seperate the lines. You may find many will help and offer solutions once they can actually read it and make sense of it all.

Cheeky bastaad eh? I'm a bit concerned at the recovery guy's complete lack of knowledge though... But to avoid future, and possible much more damaging, problems, if you are not washing you must get EVERY last drop of methanol out! The methanol itself can damage your fuel system, but the methanol also holds all the crap in soloution in the Bio! ELT H.
