Noise when adapter is plugged in
Published (2009-12-23 06:46:00)
Generally speaking: sometimes AC hum can be eliminated by turning the plug over (if both tangs are the same width). You might be able to eliminate the hum by running a grounding wire from the screw holding the wall outlet plate to some metal point on the computer. Plugging into a UPS (universal power supply) might solve this issue.

F3507g WWAN and GPS Problems

Here are some screenshots showing that the drivers are installed, but SE WM 5 won't see the card. Notice that I do not have the radio button to turn the WWAN card on or off. Access connections knows that there is no SIM inserted. I'll post some more later showing screens when the SIM is inserted. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l154/ ... creen1.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l154/ ... creen2.jpg

Thanks guys, now discovered why the battery in my A31 only does 40 mins at best! rather than the much longer time period that I thought it would be. So the full charge capacity decreases over time...think I might also add a brand new battery onto my project "to buy" list for my A31 restoration, had some problems with it overheating and restarting in the middle of the night!!!

Noise when adapter is plugged in
Published (2009-12-23 05:47:00)
Ray, I was able to listen to the mp3's. The first one has a low level background 'hum', and the second one is clean. The first thing I'd try is a different power source, then the AC adapter.

http://homepage3.nifty.com/eugene/DSCF0072.JPG Palmrest. Regarding the keyboard if the 600x is a 9.5 out of 10, and the everyday non thinkpad keyboard is a 6/7 out of 10,how would you rate the T43.

I had an A20m and used a PCMCIA card for USB 2.0, I never needed an external power supply. I did have to use the two usb-to-one cable though. I also had a PCMCIA wireless card. The wireles card was in the bottom, and the USB card was on the top slot. Both stuck about an inch. Both were no name- cheap cards but worked fine. I would not get hung up on brand names, most cards are made by the same ...

I'll be the guinea pig for this one with my CF-R4 which needs an AV anyway after a fresh OS re-load... Stay tuned...

I remember reading somewhere that this can be normal behavior for a new lithium ion battery. Mine did it for awhile, but eventually the full charge capacity drops below the design capacity.

Sorry, but I can't get either of your links to work. It looks like they are being hosted on your personal cox.net webspace so there may be some access issues.

I would check that your BIOS and Embedded Controller are up to date with the latest version. You can find this and all the drivers available for your A31 on the following webpage. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... VGUYW.html

I think your problem will be finding a machine that is not an absolute dog at running Vista for $350US. in the UK. I took a quick look on EBay UK and you can get a 14" T60 for a bit more money. It does have a touchpad but it can be disabled in BIOS. I'd get one of those and max out the RAM to 3GB, then load up Vista and Bob's your Uncle. Of the modern (within the last 3 years) model Thinkpads, ...

Why don't you try uninstalling the ThinkPad UltraNav driver. Next go into device manager and uninstall the synaptics touchpad driver in Device Manager. Now try installing the software for the keyboard. Reboot with the keyboard plugged in and see what happens.

To begin with Sierra Wireless's 3G Watcher will not work with a Sony Ericsson device. It looks like Error 734 might be because you have not supplied a correct username and password. It could also result from your line not being provisioned for the proper data service (check with your carrier). Not sure if the following will help since the error code is different, but it solved a problem on my ...

Efrant a couple of threads below this one is experiencing the same problem using this card with a Zender BIOS update in Windows 7. Kind of sounds like there is a bug in the BIOS update to me (could be wrong though).
