Merom Socket M will most likely work, though. (Depending on revision, but most T60s are of the correct revision.)

Any update on System Beep Volume?
Published (2009-11-26 14:52:00)
AFAIK you can just lower the volume, or mute it completely, using the keyboard-buttons. The alternative is in the BIOS, but only ON or OFF.

Blinking drive light on Lenovo R61e

The quick answer is that the drive is probably busted. I guess the read mechanism won't move. Do you still have warranty remaining?

The poor graphics performance is probably because the graphics driver is not yet optimised. However, I suspect the order of performance will remain XP>Win7>Vista.

Battery for T61
Published (2009-11-28 20:47:00)
The only thing that bother me a bit is whether those really are genuine Lenovo batteries? The reason of my concern is the price. As far as I can tell 50$ is really cheap.

The picture looks right. They didn't post a part number. I am making some assumptions. I assume you are talking about the machine in your signature (14" not wide-screen). I also assume their battery looks like their pictire. My hesitation relates to the fact that the 14.1" wide-screen models use a different shape battery. I assume from their description it is an original battery.

Unless you changed it, your screen is the standard/normal 15" XGA (1024x768 resolution). That's a 4:3 ratio screen. You can replace it with another of the same ratio, such as the SXGA+ (1400x1050) from your 2nd selection. The first WXGA one is a widescreen and won't fit. If you go the SXGA+ way, you can use the same LCD-cable, but you'll also need a new inverter P/N 42T0079. Big BUT: a few ...

Hi I have T60 14" (standard screen 4:3) 2623-D7U Serial No Lxxxxxx and I have to replace the motherboard. Will 15" T60 x1400 motherboard fit my 14" T60 ? I need 100% confirmation or deny . Darius Admin edit : Removed serial number as it's generally not wise to post this information in public. However, that said, a parts lookup says that the motherboard mfg. part number was 42T5383 (no ...

I installed GTA San Andreas fine on my T61 with Quadro 140M, The T61 is loaded with Win7 Home Premium. You have browse the install disk, right click the setup.exe file. Then go to the compatibility tab, and set it to "XP SP2". Then rightclick the setup.exe and click " Run as administrator". I also used a no-cd crack, because i used the ISO file on my HDD to install the game. You can find an no...

You didn't blow away the restore partition, did you? If you didn't, Rescue and Recovery will let you customize what gets installed. Anyway, that key might only work on OEM installs of XP, not Corporate installs.

Far frome being an expert I would say that you should return your Seagate HDD and to demand it to be replaced by a new one.

I take it you're getting a warranty extension from 3 yr to 5 yr. This is a smart move. I just got one for my T61 from Provantage.com ( Lenovo part number 45K6025 3yr-5yr mail in depot repair warranty) for $140. They send you an electronic registration number and a link to the Lenovo website and within 24 hours, your warranty is extended! As this is an international warranty, you should be able...
