It wouldn't be slow at CPU tasks (like 32+ Pentium 3 processors in one on a manufacturing process that is 22-34% the size of the most recent P3 processors) but it would take a significant hit with GPU-specific tasks. We're talking at least a teraflop of total compute power among the 32+ cores. Even assuming you only get 25% of that (128-bit vs 512-bit), we're still talking enough total horsepower to rival, if not exceed, a...

before you do it make sure you get the temp right, every oven is calibrated differently and if the older they get the more "off" they get.

32 bit vs 64 bit: How it relates to video cards
I've had to post this too many times so i thought i'd get it out in the correct forum here.
Under a 32 bit operating system (XP, vista 32) you have 4GB of address space available. Address space is different to the amount of memory in your PC.
The reason a 32 bit system can only use 3GB (...

I used to have a 1950XTX PE. When I added a second, it made a huge difference in games.
I'm not sure why you don't like the X2 cards as the one I currently have rocks.
I would get a 5970, but everything runs just great for me at 2560x1600 with the 4870x2.
As always, just my opinion.

Depends on the amps. Check either on the label on the PSU or go to Newegg
and look at the picture of the label there if you can't be arsed to open
the case.

well if you cant wait for the 5870s to come back in stock, two 5770s in
crossfire pretty much give an equal performance and two 5750s are about as
good as a 5850

Oh wow, Larrabee! I wonder how well it will perform, especially with these
new generation ATI/NVIDIA cards. Nice to see a third option for discrete
computer graphics solutions (hopefully a good one, seeing how Intel's IGPs
have been a pile of crap).

check if it has a 2 pin SPDIF input on the card, if so, it can.
older nvidia cards needed an SPDIF cable from your soundcard to the video card, that then passed the audio through to HDMI
ATI cards in the 3K series and up (starting with the onboard 3200) have a realtek HD sound card built in, so they get HDMI audio from the get go
