父母是苏南籍，但本人在北京以北度过童年，后长期在襄樊工作定居，目前在武汉讨生活。呆过的各地之比，襄樊是个相对纯朴的城市，不像武汉人脾气那么火爆，容易相处，基本生活物价也低，当然收入也低、有点留不住人。个人认为，如果武汉直辖了，襄樊做新湖北的省会还是合格的，宜昌和十堰只够做两翼。论综合指标襄樊确实是湖北第二。
