Gang kills Peruvian peasants to...
Published (2009-12-01 22:19:00)
Much of the world was shocked and titillated by news of alleged fat-stealing murderers in the Peruvian jungle. But the story may have a much more sinister underbelly. Could the allegation of homicidal liposuction possibly be a smokescreen to distract attention from other crimes, including, some local journalists say, the existence of a death squad that may be operating within the country's national police?...

Published (2009-11-30 03:21:00)
For more than five years, Hal Turner of North Bergen lived a double life. The public knew him as an ultra-right-wing radio talk show host and Internet blogger with an audience of neo-Nazis and white supremacists attracted to his scorched-earth racism and bare-knuckles bashing of public figures. But to the FBI, and its expanding domestic counter-terror intelligence operations in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks, Turner was "Valhalla"...

Red headed Stepchild is not a term I think I've ever heard. I assume it's some sort of insult. I do have a stepchild who is red headed though - what are you telling me. What about the Ferrari Testa Rossa (in Italian, red head) - anyone want to complain if they are given one of those?

Quote: The armed robbery charges stem from Stubbe's and Smet's alleged involvement in a strong-armed robbery the night of Nov. 7 at Fondy Motel, 1008 S. Main St. The robbery with use of force charge against Smet follows a report of a purse snatching Nov. 8 in the area of Western and Mary's avenues. Dustin A. Van Kooy, 18, of 9 Cardinal Court, North Fond du Lac, is also charged in that case. I'm missing the part where the...

There were a couple of recent shows on the Manson Family and the murders (tied in with the recent anniversary, I'm assuming) and at the end of one they mentioned that Manson had IIRC something like 5 known children (including his namesake, who committed suicide), but could easily have more out there. There have been no known cases of children of serial killers turning out to be serial killers ...

Unimaginable. We already had one officer ambushed in Seattle less than a month ago; fortunately, they managed to catch that scumbag fairly quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed they are also able to do it in this case.
To all our law enforcement personnel: thank you for all you do to keep us safe, and please be careful out there.

About two dozen kids at Burlington Central Elementary School were suspended after allegedly taking part in "Kick a Ginger Day," which encourages people to kick those with red hair.
But parents of some of those disciplined say the way the school punished the children is out of line.
Nov. 20 has become known among young people as "Kick a Ginger Day" in a nod to a 2005 episode of the animated ...

Seeing as Chuck Palahniuk borrows strongly from urban legends, (and that's being kind) I wouldn't exactly call that reliable evidence.

Celebrating the birthday of a young man in his early teens? Okay, way to fixate on insignificant details, but...really? I don't personally know any young teens who'd think Chuck E Cheese was a great place to celebrate their birthdays!
Aside from that, though...I keep telling hubby these kinds of places are dangerous!

Two of my cousins were flight attendants in the 90's. They said that it was a common occurance to have businessmen calling in bomb threats to slow down departures so they could make their flights. According to them, it was such a common practice that they would make games out of guessing who on the "passengers yet to arrive" list had called it in, betting drinks at the end of the day...

Interesting lack of some details... when was the money deposited? Four years since the surgery... She can't get NHS now. There was a seperate donation for limbs? Who is the other person authorized? Her dad? Her mom?
That's a lot of money to steal over 4 years or less. Somebody should have seen it happening, you would think.
