Why do I like not smoking

Well the way I see it is that there are lots of people around here that have been quit for 1+ year(s) and they certainly seem likeable enough...and if anyone stayed being a raving lunatic then they would just go back to smoking...I guess what I"m trying to say is I think we'll end up being better people in the end (even though there really is NO end)...for everythign we've done, everything we've learned, everything...

It takes like a solid 2 minutes or so for me to get on to this site and then when I want to post, it takes another 2 minutes to get to post and then I post and it takes another 2ish minutes until it acknowledges that post....and then the screen goes blank!! and then I have to start at the beginning.... Ugh!!

joining the YMCA down the road tomorrow. my regular exercising is not helping. I have gained 5 pounds in a month. I'll do the treadmill and stationary bike, and once the weather warms, swim laps. I do not want to buy larger clothing!

Oy, Angie. When I quit, my husband still smoked. He smelled so bad I could hardly stand to be near him, and he was so freakin' sensitive about perceived criticism of his smoking habit that he took just about everything I said or did as an insult. Meanwhile, knowing that I quit for me, not him, I did my best to keep my mouth shut, but I just wanted to strangle him. (Notice, none of this was my fault, I certainly wasn't irritable. LOL)...

Hi Tara, nice to meet you! I'm about 30 minutes north of Baton Rouge way out in cow-country! I'm actually a transplant from Colorado. My husband's the La. native. He dragged me and the kids down here kicking and screaming, but...the place has kinda grown on me, and I can't imagine living anywhere else! Be Happy. Beth, As you very well know, sympathy really helps during this time of need! My BF also apologized, however I knew it wasn't really a heartfelt apology because it was followed by "but..." I swear that wasn't a growl escaping my throat..... dear .... I guess it must have been one heck of an entertaining game to watch. Unfortunately, I had Reserve drill weekend and couldn't watch.
I must say it's been a magical season for my team. NFC South Champoin hats and sweatshirts are already sold out. Flags are being flown on all the vehicles and businesses ...

Oh yea I remember those dreams. At my start I would wake up almost crying thinking I smoked. Had a couple of those but not for a long time. Many months later was around alot of smokers and that night had the smoking dream. I was cleaning my closet and found a old purse with about 5-6 packs of cigs. i completely understand the emotional wreckage thing lol! i get all mushy at the drop of a hat these days. maybe its' just a general relief or gratitude that's always below the surface now and i overflow quicker? i don't mind so much tho :)

I feel your pain. I've "grown" to the tune of about 37 lbs with this quit. I'm working out, but unfortunately, it's still food that I'm turning to in times of cravings. Everyone says to get a grip on the quit first and worry about the weight later. I've never been this big, and I don't like it.
