You would give the Newly registered users group a Can post permission for whatever forums. You would give the Registered users group a No permission. You would set the number of posts to get out of Newly regidstered at 100. Then you would make a third group that has post permissions and move subscrin=bing users into it.

Best Router

First of all, I recommend you upgrade to a business internet from your ISP, otherwise, they will yell at you for violating their Terms of Service. (most prohibit web servers being ran from home connections) If your forum is not going to be very big your forum will be fine on a home router for now. You could find a standard business class router for ~$100 and it should work just fine. If you want some cisco ones, I've found them at...

How long are most people finding the database_update.php script execution to take? I've been running it on a test copy of my forum and it's been running for more than 24 hours now. Admittedly the test server (7200rpm ATA drive, 1GB RAM, 2.4GHz Celeron) is much slower than my main machine (10k rpm SATA drives, 8GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 6750). Nevertheless, this is giving me cause for concern about how long the upgrade process will...

I forsee a Vlad-trend on it's way For anyone wondering (if they noticed), I'm using Actual Multiple Monitors to extend the taskbar. It's pretty cool, but you have to buy it after 60days (If there's a better, free version out there, I want to know ^_^).

Firstly, that's the PHP CLI unless they've renamed the CGI interpreter for some reason. Secondly they are zombie processes, therefore what ever invoked them has not cleaned up after itself. Finally those processes have used 17 hundredths of a second and 21 hundredths of a second of CPU time since they were started, hardly intensive.

Completely up to you, but if your goal is to get attendance rather than registration, I wouldn't. To do it, give the Guests group a No access role for all forums in Groups Forum permissions. By default they cannot see forums anyway.

Whilst you are correct about the version numbering system you would be better off asking the question here: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=64& t=1859045

PS - I just discovered your source links to a page with a considerable amount of information that I didn't have the first time around. File formats, Registry hacks and other deep and tweaky stuff, so I'm going to study that and see if there's something in there to make this thing work for me under Win 7. Nice going!! Thanks again....
