I still have nausea on occasion and sometimes the only thing that will knock it out is Zofran which is a prescription medication. Ginger is supposed to be a good anti nausea supplement and licorice, slippery elm sometimes works. I have taken DGL Plus a lot to help with my gastritis but when it is severe, only Zofran will get rid of it.

Since many of us seem to have pain in the same general region -- both docs and the PT that I've seen about my back have all stressed that "computer posture" really affects the low back. I don't know about you guys, but I know that I slouch at the computer and don't always take a break to stand up and stretch/move around every hour like I'm supposed to. My posture sucks even after my employer spent the $$...

What are the chances of Zoloft...

1. In my case, it was thinning 2. There's no rule. My hair would get thinner, then for some months there would be some improvement and then again it would get worse 3. receding-yes, and also the top of the scalp 4. If it wasn't genetically conditioned (in which case the use of Paxil only accelerates the whole process of losing hair), there's a great chance it will grow back (at least it's what happened in my case) 5. People...

Ryan(14 at the time) had significant generalized hair loss on paxil. It corrected once he was off paxil.

I suppose better safe than sorry, eh? I am sure the whole experience was pretty stressful - glad it all worked out..... I think I read somewhere that muscles 'have memory", ie, the body can get used to a 'clenching' behavior which can take time and persistence to work through....constant tension can do this to us...and what can create more tension than w/d?

Headache, Scalp Pain
Published (2009-11-01 07:32:00)
Anastasio, I don't have an explanation for it, but I have those electical zaps like the ones you describe -- they seem to be on the scalp, rather than inside the head like the ones I had when I first quit lexapro. Fortunately mine are not accompanied by headaches. I had headaches early in withdrawal but now they are rare.

I have a lot of that going on (mine's the opposite, though, in that lying straight makes it worse) right now. Course, mine's an actual injury, but the pain sounds similar to what you're talking about. Mine is definitely sacral pain that radiates up to the lower back and down throughout the glutes. Heat/ice are good -- alternate them 10 minutes each a few times per day. I can give you ...

I have at times. I have read that eating nuts every 2-3 hours can help, something to do with blood sugar levels. Ive also heard that dramanine & bonnie can help with nausea, aswell as sea sickness patches or tablets. Motion sickness tablets too. Do you actually throw up or just feel nauseous?

This is one of the typical symptoms there. Unless, of course, it is genetically conditioned. At one point of my taking Paxil, I was losing my hair like crazy. Now the things are much better. This might have something to do with a poorer blood circulation when you're on SSRIs.

It certainly could be stress related, but you could also suffer from migraines, albeit not as severe as what most people suffer when they get a migraine. There's really no way of saying what it's from, one way or the other. If it continues, then see a doctor.

I'm so glad the CBT is working for you. One question -- what would you be looking for with a diagnosis? Would you do anything differently than you're already doing?

I'd like to know what others think about this too. For me its out of the question until I'm off Lexapro, but that's a personal thing.

Welcome to Paxilprogress! I gained 50 pounds while on Paxil and I'm happy to say, lost every pound of it. I don't believe in the Atkins diet, but do believe in Weight Watchers. For many here, it took up to a year before the weight started to come off, so just be patient, keep up the exercise and diet routine, and it'll happen on its own.

I believe there is a lot of difference between intrusive thoughts of self-harm, thoughts of suicide, feeling suicidal and actually committing or intending to commit suicide. I've actually had those kind of weird intrusive thoughts my entire life, before any meds, not all the time, but occasionally. Why do our minds do that? I've wondered the same thing. The thoughts come unbidden to ...

A few years ago a friend of mine injured her back and was taking lots of ibuprofen, plus a couple of other pain relieving drugs as well, I think. I don't recall anything dreadful happening, she eventually recovered back to full health. Since this is a short-term thing and you're not planning on taking it for years, it is very likely you'll be fine. Hey, I took morphine for a while after my ...
