You must take off as much time as is necessary Ash. Going back too soon would be counter productive and lead to further stresses to yourself. Why don't you try the gym again? Somewhere to go whilst you are off and somewhere to let go of your inner unrest. A hug to you.. ((((xx))))

From what I've read here, the prozac switch works okay for some people, but for others it doesn't work, they end up in w/d from the first drug and the prozac doesn't cover it. I don't think there is any way to predict whether it will work or not. Also, some people find Prozac very stimulating and can cause anxiety. Good to hear the melatonin and valerian are helping, I've found them helpful too.

Thanks Julie, Strangly, my doctor would not prescribe that unless I see a consultant first. My regime at the moment is to try and see if Prozac works ( I will give it some time) and if it does, will wean off the 20mg citalopram. Luckily I have private insurance to cover some of the mental health comsultancy and therapy. This is god sent, as UK is notorious for the lack of these facilities on the NHS. I am seeing a consultant in two weeks,...

Eye pressure/soreness?
Published (2009-11-25 12:57:00)
I seem to get this quite often, it feels as though there's a lot of pressure behind my eyes or something. Sort of like my eyes feel very heavy and tired too. I can't describe it very well. I also get tightness and soreness around my forehead and face muscles that seem to go with it. Rubbing my eyes a lot feels good, as does submerging my head in hot water as far as the tops of my eyeballs. Any ideas what it is and if there's any...

Ash I just wanted to say...stay far far away from Effexor! 23 months and still suffering through withdrawal.

Low Heart Rate and Sleep Disorder?
Published (2009-11-24 13:24:00)
I haven't had any significant changes recently to my meds, but I find myself tired constantly, and sometimes sleep from 4am-2pm and then nap from 5pm-10pm. That's 15 hours a day. I always feel sleepy. That's been going on for months and months. In addition, for the past few weeks, my abdomen has felt off. I can't really describe the sensation, but the closest I can come is that there is discomfort in my intestines....

Hi, Ash! Good to hear from you, but so sorry to hear you're having such problems. I wish I had advice for you, but the only thing that's helped me really has been time, and I hope others will have more to suggest.
I am almost 3-1/2 years off, and it's only this year that I've had any significant progress, and I'm still recovering. Some symptoms especially last longer than others for some ...

Sometimes mine is so bad I take some ibuprofen. My eyelids even swell up from all the histamine and then goes away. I've not found one thing to really help.

Have you been on 20mg Celexa since Jan this year? Sleeping a lot can be a side effect of Paxil, so probably also with Celexa.

Weightwatchers is a great diet...but paxil is known for causing weight gain despite a great diet and exercise. Most find that they can't lose any significant weight, or keep it off, while on paxil.
Our experience is that weight comes off after being off paxil for about a year, regardless of dietary changes.

Imitrex, Sumatripan help please
I've been having chronic headaches now for 8 months during my withdrawal although I def would say they're not migraines.
Anyway my doc today has given me 6 Imitrex/Sumatripan tablets as a trial because she wonders if they are migraines.
She's setting me up for an x ray on my neck (already had a clear CT...

The random aches and pains could very well be withdrawal and should get better with time. Are you able to take a lower dose of the pill and it still work? Can the pill be cut in half? Maybe that will help a little with the anxiety.

I have a lot of that going on (mine's the opposite, though, in that lying straight makes it worse) right now. Course, mine's an actual injury, but the pain sounds similar to what you're talking about. Mine is definitely sacral pain that radiates up to the lower back and down throughout the glutes.
Heat/ice are good -- alternate them 10 minutes each a few times per day. I can give you ...

I have at times. I have read that eating nuts every 2-3 hours can help, something to do with blood sugar levels.
Ive also heard that dramanine & bonnie can help with nausea, aswell as sea sickness patches or tablets. Motion sickness tablets too.
Do you actually throw up or just feel nauseous?
