Losing weight
Published (2009-11-26 16:53:00)
I've found aloe vera helpful for digestive problems, too, I hope it helps you. Try not to worry about your weight, just focus on eating little and often and what you can manage. What I learned last time is that not eating actually kind of perpetuates itself, and also puts you into a bad state, it actually can make you worse. So what is important is to keep trying with small amounts of something you can manage, then build on that step by...

Lexapro Withdrawal
Published (2009-11-27 20:30:00)
Welcome to paxilprogress! While our "title" is about paxil, we have members on every ssri/snri out there. The reality of weaning any of them is to go VERY slow. Only you can decide what dose to return to. Our advice is find the dose that you stabilize at, and stay there a while. You may have to go back to 10mg, since it's probably that first HUGE wean that is getting to you know. Key points to remember....it can take 2-4...

Lexapro Withdrawal
Published (2009-11-27 18:19:00)
Welcome, JR! We have a few folks who have been on Lexapro and I'm sure they'll be chiming in. One person in particular you may want to PM is, Aeroman. I don't know much about Lexapro, but I do know enough to know your taper was entirely too fast. But, that's par for the course here with any SSRI and the doctor's recommended taper. I would suggest you go back up to the last, lowest dose where you felt stable. If...

Hi carla, Welcome to paxil progress. Poop out, or TOLERANCE, is when some can have symptoms of withdrawal on full therapeutic dose. This means that your mind and body has become used to that dosage, and the drug is no longer working effectively. Crash. This happens as you taper, it means that some are doing well for some time , then symptoms show up out of the blue at an exaggerated force, which means the person then has to either 1) updose,...

Lord Mixter it is as if you could write my story of withdrawal but I'm sure you have not had them as extreme since you know to taper slowly! I had the nose pressure for a very long time and now just comes and goes. Nerves would vibrate so bad that oil breaks out around the nose area. Headaces I am still dealing with coming and going. And the warm feeling, hot spots, then chills. I bet this will subside for you though as you level out....

Hi Terri... Altho we all react in different ways to supplements, I doubt it's the "T". I think it's more probable it's the combo of things that LC said. This time of the year is extra difficult for some people. Some years I feel it a lot... some years very little. Take it one day at a time - try to get in some time for you to just relax. Whatever works for you... down to the smallest thing. Sometimes I pour...

Sick of being Sick
Published (2009-11-25 17:52:00)
At this point I am wondering if it makes more sense to ask for the antibiotic rx tomorrow rather than waiting for the test results. I could really use some relief. Plus I don't want to just keep getting sicker on Thanksgiving and ruin it for other people too. Do you think that would be an OK thing to do? Norma

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you're feeling a little better today. This is the worst:

If you do a search you will see that more than a few of us here have had bad experiences with deep tissue type massages while tapering or in WD.
I think it does have something to do with releasing toxins, but the whole point of a slow wean is not to necessarily flush the meds or toxins out of your system fast, but to do it slowly so your brain can make the necessary adjustments to the ...

Hi Carla
Welcome to PP.
The rule of thumb is 10% drops at a time and one drug at a time. So if you have dropped 5mg of paxil and 50% on the clonazepam you are going to feel it and not in a good way.
There will be folks chime in later who can give you more detailed advise. But slow is best
take care

It's hard to say, Terri as supplements effect everyone differently. But, if you're looking for a rational explanation, I have several for you.
You've only been off Prozac since August, after being on since 1991. It takes time for you to readjust to life with out medication.
You've had many stressors in your life recently:
Financial
Career
Holiday
Menstrual cycle
I don't...

I was hoping I would lose weight while tapering because it seems that most people do. Unfortunately, Im eating constantly. Im going to start a diet soon. Or at least thats what I keep telling myself.

Floaters are extremely common even when you aren't on Paxil. You should change your background on your computer to something darker, that helps a little.
Also, see what kind of shapes you can make out of the floaters, I often see dragons! LOL

I'm sorry you're going through this, Dan. My mother has nueropathy and takes Neuronton and has nerve block shots every six months in her spine.
Don't just assume that type of pain is just w/d. Neuropathy is a condition that will have to be diagnosed and dealt with.

Hey... I'm not a fan of switching meds or what dr recommends... I'd stick
with the paxil.. wean off, and then if you really have to.. try something
else . I got switched to prozac-fail and effexor -fail, put me in the worst
cold turkey paxil w/d ever. That's not just me either, there's people
coming here on a weekly basis in the middle of cross tapers in a bad state.

Is this maybe depersonalization?? I am almost 2 years out too CT and I get chills and pins and needles in my arms and legs but not the dissociation. But I do get that disconnected feeling quite often....feeling disconnected from people, the world. I think I have read about this type of thing somewhere on here before??

My understanding is that those lab test results are not very reliable. I wouldn't read too much into it. My doctor said they are a waste of money. You have to decide for yourself whether you are in protracted withdrawal or the underlying condition is returning.

Yes, these depression "crashes" are normal during tapering. They are for me anyway. You did such a good job describing what it feels like. When I feel like that I can't even type a sentence. I know what you mean about worrying you really are mentally ill - I have the same thoughts - but you know, you can't judge yourself by how you feel now. Your brain is still in chaos from drugs and from ...

Keep a large calendar in a convenient place. Jot down when things are due. Just have to get use to checking the calendar every day. Or, you can use the calendar on your computer.
