i was on paxil for 6 months, and due to not being able to afford seeing a doctor, i had to stop taking them. i was on a 30mg dose i really just want to know how to let my dad know i'm not just trying to be this way, depressed and withdrawn, but he thinks i am doing this on purpose to spite him.

When I was a mess last year, my own family were sympathetic and supportive, although they live far away and I hardly saw them, but my parents lent me some money in case I lost any pay from not being able to work. But even my dear husband, who has been very supportive when things were going okay, started to put the pressure on me to 'stop being so negative' and urged me to hurry up and get better and go back to work. He made me feel...

hi lin i am angies friend who has tried to help her through this hell . I came off seroxat , then effexor myself which helped me to understand although with a lot less side effects thank goodness. Angie has suffered much in the same way as you, so i know your words have helped her to feel less isolated ,as i tell her she has come through so much, she is stronger than she thinks ,and i know she WILL get through this . She has made so much...

wow you have an amazing story if i were you id be waltzing around to my families house to show them how ive recoved and you never know you might be thrown a few heartfelt appologies which could only make you feel better. It sounds really rude what they did but its easy being able to not understand, if doctors dont then families surely wouldnt. I think you should channel your energies into something else rather then resentment towards your...

It doesn't just happen to withdrawal people and that is a shame. Not that people in withdrawal should be ignored but that people don't have the desire to help one another like they should. If it were me I wouldn't let your family push you away. Walk away if that's what you really want but don't let anyone make you feel like you don't belong or like you weren't important enough for them to help. You do belong...

LinLou, that's one great post there! In many people's books you're no less than a hero. You've gone through, most likely, the most excrutiatingly painful experience one can imagine. I feel your pain of not being understood by others. But, please, remember about one thing-you've GONE through this nightmare, and that means one thing-you're a STRONG person. I too went/has been going through benzo and SSRIs and benzo....

Wow Linlou! You could've written your story about me! I can feel and relate so much to everything you just said! I'm on my 22nd month and feel EXACTLY the same way you do! I lost all the "friends" I worked with-none of them return my calls anymore. And my family! Ditto everything! I now am distant from my sister and brother and other family members that like you said-if it's not a tumor, or one of those...

I am so glad you posted this because I often think of you and wonder how you are going. Your journey has touched my heart in so many ways. I think you are well within normal boundaries to feel as you do towards your family. It brings to mind fairweather friends. In time you will forgive but perhaps not ever forget. hold your head up high. you have achieved something that they could probably never have done. please keep in touch with us here -...

It's so good to know that there are people out there who are fighting against the overmedication and psychiatric labeling of children. I wish so badly I could go to that conference. One day when I am recovered, I would like to be able to speak to people about what these drugs do to children, especially stimulants administered at a young age. Do you know if there is any way to contact Ginger and ...
