Anybody see that South Park where all the religious zealots ruin the Christmas show by removing any and all religious references? Quote: Indiana School Removes 'Allah' From Holiday Show After Protests Monday, December 14, 2009 An elementary school in Indiana reportedly removed a mention of Allah in its holiday show after protests from a national conservative Christian group. Lantern Road Elementary Principal Danielle Thompson told...

http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?se...cal&id=7163491 This is crazy. Dude wanted for peddling takes off, pulls out a fucking MAC 10, only manages 2 or 3 rounds before it jams. Cop shoots a few rounds, all of them landing. Guy dies at a hospital. I'm sure people will freak out over shooting a suspect in a crowded NYC shopping area, but the guy pulled out an SMG. Good on this officer.

I will say this in the school's favor; I think is a good idea to send a letter to parents in general discussing the problems of cyber-bullying. Go ahead and try to discourage cyber-bullying. I just draw the line when the school begins acting like a social cop.

This sounds like ''no child left behind'' rearing its ugly head. Under this program, educators are forced to teach to the lowest commond denomenator. It is all about getting the lowest performers to perform better, it has nothing to do with giving a good education or challenging students.

He actually didn't get as long as I figured he would. That said, I can't really see how anybody could have maintained his numbers despte the situation he inherited and proceeded to make worse.
I don't think this really tells you anything beyond "Americas are, as always, incredibly gullible." That's not a shot at the dems either, because the GOP is the exact same.

if we are going to keep out troops there then we need to increase the
numbers until evacuation time imo.

Excellent. If Obama wants to negotiate with Iran, it'd be much better if he
negotiates with someone who won't spend the rest of his time denying the
Holocaust and calling for genocide.

This is one of the best arguments for legal immigration I can imagine. Oh, and remember the Bird Flu pandemic? Yeah, neither do I.

Big ruling. And I like that they called the dept's bluff on the "fear of litigation" thing.

Yeah, that's the part that is really dumb in retrospect. The US government is pretty good (or bad, I guess, depending on your perspective) about protecting its own citizens in such cases. If you get into some shit in a foreign country, like Kella said, that first call better be to the embassy. Or, better yet, go there in person and stay there.

The TSA is a damn joke anyway. Most of those people are barely qualified to
work at a fast food restaurant. We get what we pay for. I would rather have
no security screening at all at the airport(other than the bomb scans on
luggage) and instead put an air marshal on every flight.

best wishes Bri, my gut tells me you guys will make the best of any challenges that may come of this.
If the stress gets to be too much, there's always the serenity prayer. I like to think of a higher inner power as God when I'm feeling agnostic... either way, faith will help you stay in the moment and not get caught up in all the "what ifs..."

What you've said seems fine, the only part I really disagree on is the immediate withdraw of troops. I see why people didn't want us to go into Iraq in the first place, but I honestly see more harm coming from us withdrawing that if stay. If we leave it opens the country up to whoever wants it. We got ourselves into a sticky mess, but I figure we ought to clean it up. Just my opinion is all.
