I also have the same problem with a Lenovo Trackpoint USB keyboard and Windows 7. I'm sure it has something to do with the driver, but I can't get it working. External USB Trackpoint
Keyboard works, however, the trackpoint in it is disabled and I have to use the trackpoint on the actual laptop (x300). This is VERY frustrating. Does anyone from support monitor this forum?

On any Clean Install into the partition/hard drive that you had another/same OS installed, the only thing you will have when you get into the desktop is the OS that you cleaned installed. Everything that was installed on the
pervious OS including the OS is gone...period! You wil have to install everything again. Example #1: *1 hard drvie with only a "C" partition with Vista and all ...

Niohoggr,
It's a lot of work, but you can always recover to a non-win 7 to test out the thermal issues, or you can check out the hardware. It's not difficult to pull the bottom access cover over the fan and clean out the fan / heatsink. If you search the forum a bit on Y410 fan cleaning I think posted some pics on how to do this. The Y410 and the 3000 N100/200 systems have similar ...

I will be looking forward to the enhanced experience, because I think

I have always recommened Lenovo to my clients and the one that I have upgrade so far I have to figure my own way with the audio driver becuase thier will be no sound coming from the system after...

windows 7. most lenovos you buy now come with free windows 7 upgrade i think (im not sure tho check the site for details). I mean the G530 series are pretty good bang for the buck (3gb ram, 320gb hard, dual core) or even better lower end thinkpads T series....take a look at their laptops. i never upgrade/construct laptops. they either...

Although technically the system key is only for the system for which it was purchased with, I do think you should be able to do this simply by swapping the keys. The hardware is similar enough that it shouldn't send up any flags in the activation process. Obviously keep in mind that
OEM software is only licensed for the system which it was originally sold, so you may encounter an issue if you ...

Install System Update 4.0 and let it install at least the System interface driver, the
hotkey features, onscreen display etc. Those are the minimum required drivers for this to function.
