Problem With Ford Escape Idle

Well, I think Puddle Jumper nailed it. The shop called yesterday - they say that the IAC (Idle Air Control) Valve needs replaced. I should be getting the car back today. Thanks, everyone. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Hello - I have a 2003 Ford Escape 3.0L V6 with 75000 miles. I've owned it since new and never had any problems with it. Today while sitting in traffic, I sort of thought it was a little sluggish to accelerate but didn't pay much attention because I was sitting in stop and go traffic so didn't really have much to pay attention to. Well, then while sitting at a stop the car started ...

Here's the story in a nutshell: July 15th I bought a new lawn tractor from TSC. It's a Husky with a 20hp Kohler. In early September I was using it and it started knocking really badly and started to seize. I shut it down and checked the oil- it was dry. I ran and grabbed a quart of oil and put it in to help cool it down and get some lubrication back into it. I started it back up for ...

The water pump went out on my truck this morning! Why in the he** did they design the pulley and fan clutch with that huge nut that needs to be taken off to get the dang fan clutch and pulley off? The older GM engines was just take the 4 or 5 bolts off the fan and it all came apart. I guess there is a special tool for this? I took the easy way...pulled the cover off the back of the old...

This question is actually for my boat distrib, but anything that would apply there would be applicable to automotive as well. As such I thought I might get a wider response down here, rather than up in the I/O forum. I have a 'phasing' issue on my Prestolite distrib, ie, that is that the rotor position is a full cylinder contact stud beyond a given cylinder when the timing light verifies ...

Be sure to read “ALL” of this thread, at the bottom is the most important information. It is how to “resize” a photo “before” you post it to Iboats! The photos should be no larger than 640 x 480 in size. The best normal size to use when resizing is 320 x 240. Use the 320 x 240 size if you just want to show a photo of your boat, kids, dog or so on. Use the size of 640 x 480 for photos...

I run a DOS based business program on my Win2k machine. It is an old PII 400 mhz unit that stays on all the time. When I go to print an invoice (in this case) nothing happens. I go back out to the desk top and see this message in a little box titled "printer folder". There was a error found when printing the docuement "no docuement name" to disk. Then a cancel or retry button....

Gonna be in a tent this weekend for deer season and it is supposed to be pretty cold. Has anyone ever used a portable propane heater in a tent? I have a Mr. Heater Portable Buddy brand heater that I have used outdoors for trout fishing and it works great. I am just a little leary about using it in my tent, even though the specs say it is ok for tent heating. In my younger years I would not ...

Chevy guy with a Ford! I decided that I needed a project for the winter so here it is: 1969 Fairlane 500, 302 c4 auto Granny car. It has not been on the road for about 10 years and has been in a garage and started occationally. It vertually has "NO" rust other than some surface rust. This will not be a "restoration", just a nice dayly driver! I put on the era correct rally ...
