High Voltage
Published (2008-11-26 10:09:00)
I experienced that with my unregulated outboard and HB 400TX units, last year. Anytime I was at wot or near wot runs, the over voltage warning would come on. I would turn on lights, as suggested above, to get the voltage back down. Now, in my case, it appears that this was an early warning of the battery going out. By the end of that season, the battery would not hold a charge. It had some lake water contamination from a prior spring flood,...

Lowrance 1600 GPS Question
Published (2008-11-26 03:47:00)
Thanks for the info! I will check with Lowrance. From a quick look around, it seems the 1600 is ancient already... I am not sure I really need a GPS for Lake Mead anyway, but it would have been a nice extra. Cheers.

I was running around today, attempting to fish, and on my way back, my Humminbird 383c FF/GPS sounded an alarm for High Voltage Input. My boat has NO gauges, and I use the voltmeter on the 383c as my gauge. Anyway, it was showing at the time 17.6v - 18.8v. Is this something I need to worry about? Oh, and it's a '94 Bayliner Capri 16', with a '94 Force 70HP ob. Thanks.

Greetings. Our Maxum came with the Lowrance 1600, but when I fired it up the screen looked terrible. Many missing lines in the picture. Any ideas on how to fix it? I am guessing it is hardley worth the $$$. It has the external antenna mounted on the ride rail and looks sturdy, any ideas if there are newer units that could use the existing mounting, wiring, and antenna? Or, of course, ...

Hello All, New to me 2004 Lund Tiller with 60HP. First post. I'm having a bit of electrical difficulties with my 2004 Lund Explorer. I think I have it narrowed down to the lights within the boat. I am interested in knowing what the proper fuses are, as I think they're incorrect. Can anyone provide me with those numbers (Left to Right as facing the panel), or point me in the right ...

Hi All, I was attempting to answer this myself with the search function as to not bother my fellow boaters, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I've decided that I need to purchase an on board charger. Here is the issue. The boat stays moored from April until the end of October, and obviously there is no shore power in the mooring field. I really hate having to remove the ...

Just a few ?s too you. How old is your finder and do you use it in saltwater, I have had to replace mine every couple of years due to time and salt water, also towards the end of the finders life i have found out that they only work well in deeper waters and just flashed in shallow waters (3 ft and under) and then i have just replaced them

Help! I have a pontoon boat with twin electric trolling motors mounted on the back (residential electric only "lake"). The motors are probably 15+ years old as the pontoon came with the house when we purchased it last year and the markings have all faded off the motors. Everything was working fine until I tried to run the motors this weekend. They had been sitting unused for about 3 weeks. ...
