Tried doing the Shift+restore, i guess the ipod does go into DFU mode, but then shuts off during the last steps of restore. Maybe im should use 1.1a instead of 3.0? Downloaded firmware 1.1, 2.1, and 3.0 but still no dice beacause only 3.0 seems to be only the option for restore. Okay thanks for the input. I guess i could get my money back ($20).

There's this nifty little app that basically puts your ipod/iphone into safe mode that you don't have to restart to get out of. Well I went into it for the first time after moving from categories to stacks as stacks is faster and just better overall. But because stacks apparently can't be accessed in "game mode" I can't get to the app to turn it off and go back to my regular theme >_> So is a...

I've never dealt with i-Funbox before, but if worst comes to worst, you can rename the videos with something like iFile or MobileFinder, which you can download from Cydia.

So wen you give drugs to your iPod filenames change? I'm not surprised But on a serious note! I had the same problem, so I stopped using I-Funbox and use total commander instead. I also did what spoon up there suggested and just changed the filenames with iFile Good Luck!

Or perhaps Apple refers to it as 'Late 2009 Model' because their top-product (the iPhone) is named the iPhone 3G[S] . Perhaps Apple is trying to keep customers from thinking that it includes a 3G connection... That would almost make sense...

if your not on the latest version of itunes go and download that. also you could sync another ipod with ur pc see if its ur ipod thats the problem. my last resort/thought is maybe it would work if you restore your ipod, either by holding the buttons or clicking the option in iTunes...you could then set it up as a new ipod when you connect it and hopefully then you could sync it. you can bring it straight to apple store, make and appoitment, and sort it out with them. i advise though to restore ipod before you bring it to them. have you tried a restore period? could fix the problem

Update: Every now and then the recovery mode will be on (usb link and itunes icon). Updated iTunes to 9.0 and tried to restore ipod touch but got error 1604 and 1603. Downloaded quickpwn to recover ipod touch but now neither itunes or quickpwn will read the ipod touch. Okay will be downgrading to itunes 7 and attempt quickpwn agian. Whats next?

ssh into /var/mobile/media/iTunes_control and search for files like F002 that contain mp3s inside. You could just try to copy those onto ur new computer and drag them into itunes. It worked for me.
