Yes that's correct, blacksn0w caused a lot of people some grief so I have not installed it either. Rock on the other hand is working great for me. It loads much faster, works in landscape, and is required if you use intelliscreen. I think the people who don't like it complain that they charge higher for some apps than Cydia does.

ok plug your phone into your computer. back up and sync it. go to blackra1n.com and down load the file for you (windows or mac) youll unzip the file and click the blackra1n icon. click make it rain let the program run and restart your phone. after it is back on you unlock and click the raindrop on your phone. install cydia go into cydia and let it do its updates go back into cydia and add winterboard reboot your phone go back into cydia and go...

Here is the screen it's stuck on: now I can call the phone and text the phone and they will come through, but they just show up on that screen. If I take the SIM card out, the phone returns to normal, completely functional, but once I insert that SIM it goes straight back to that screen. I plugged into iTunes and it keeps telling me it can't activate without a valid SIM. Please help!

Hi, Just to be 13 you are very ahead on this field, I'm new and my Iphone 3G has the WIFI problems after updating to the latest version, I've been doing the "Reset Network Settings", total reset, install lates versions 3.1.2, but wi fi is not available, I went to the Apple store but the warranty expired and in order to replace it for a new one, I have to pay $200.00...This is a software issue and apple should...

click make it rain

Add the source in cydia http://cy.sosiphone.com. Status notifier is in that repo.

Update to 3.1.2 thru iTunes, then go to blackra1n.com and click on the windows or mac icon depending on your system, and then run blackra1n and click 'make it rain'. Then open the blackra1n app on the phone and click 'make it snow' It is then jailbroke and unlocked.

It should work fine as long as it's not over 10 megs. If over you need a jail break app to fool the iPhone into thinking it's a wifi connection. If you lose connection during the download it's no biggie just redo it when you have coverage again.
