i think you should just get a prepaid phone. chances are there's gonna be extra fees and plus the present iphone 3g will only work on any gsm network. go prepaid

the phone may still be damp, put it in a bag of rice in a dry room for a few days to dry out and try again. There are a few people here who have given this advise, and they would be able to give you specifics im sure.

no app will, you have to jailbreak. that is your answer. nothing is wrong with jailbreaking so I don't know why you're all concerned.

To renew your lease, in the WIFI page, tap the blue arrow on the right hand side of the wifi your trying to connect to. Your then able to renew your lease, however I doubt this will fix your problem. Try to reset your network settings in settings.

exactly! i wished it would work too, but schools and company's block anything other than laptops. if a network has a login page like that, forget about using wifi on your phone.

Don't think there is much you can do since it is out of warranty. If you have an Apple Store nearby though it might be worth a shot. Nothing lost.

The only way I know is to try a sim from a different carrier and see if it works. But 3.1.2 can be unlocked using blackra1n.

the battery life problem is a really common problem especially since OS 3.1 update. It's TOTALLY FRUSTRATING ESPECIALLY WHEN IM IN THE MIDDLE OF TEXTING OR CALLING!
