@arap Yeah, sucks. I bet embassy is getting many calls now. But it's their own fault to put 'December' on that white paper. Btw, did you call the embassy too?

Nope..I even didn't have any plan to call them in this early of December, in Mid maybe..but as you already informed that the announcement may be delayed until the end January..I guess I don't need to call then, and yes I do agree this is suck, most people really hope that they will get the announcement in December because it is actually listed in the announcement paper, but then again maybe the delay was caused from MEXT itself so...

Hey everyone! Well it really seems that this thread has come back from the death lol Anyway, just wanted to share some info about the scholarships that I got from my embassy here in Bolivia: 1) They are advicing us to arrive to Japan with around US$ 2500 this because: a) The stipend given by MEXT will be delayed about 1 month (until all the clearance has been made and you get an account on a Japanese financial institution) b) Bolivians are...

I don't know if this is very helpful, but here goes: I got accepted into Sophia's FLA last year and it didn't took much effort. I am from Germany, thus English isn't my first language. I scored about 1650 (with 700 in math) on the new SAT and 109 on the TOEFL (which you probably won't have to take). I wrote pretty decent essay I guess and the letter of recommendation sounded good. I think they are trying to be...

You live in London Coco? Where did you find that out? I haven't been able to find out anything about application forms or deadlines for the UK. Also for anyone that does know the procedure in the UK, I'm thinking of going on holiday in October this year, will that clash with anything to do with the application process?

Hi Lynn, Sophia FLA accepts only 130 students simply because it is a small school specialized in college-level education in English. In the past, there used to be information on the Web regarding the minimum requirements for admission into FLA. It seems to have disappeared, probably suggesting that the screening process depends on variables, such as the number of foreign nationals, Japanese ...

As far as I know, medicine is always taught in Japanese in Japan, because the national examinations for medical practitioners require that you speak, read and write Japanese on a highly advanced (post-collegiate) level. I know of no medical college in Japan that teaches in languages other than Japanese. Thread moved to Studying in Japan.
