I feed Orijen LB puppy and the coat is phenomenal. I have had people go buy Orijen after touching the pup!

From their website: How should I feed my large breed puppy? The needs of a large breed puppy are no different from a small breed puppy. All puppies need high quality protein, low carbohydrate, balanced calcium to phosphorus (CA:P), bioavailable vitamins and minerals, and beneficial omega fatty acids like DHA (found in fish and fish oil). What does vary with large breeds is the growth rate and how the growth is managed through diet and...

You know itÂ’s funny, all this talk about what dog food is better than the next dog food. We have a GSD/Chow Chow mix that is nearly 15 years old. We adopted her from the Human Society when she was a pup, or about 3 months old. All of her life I have done the worst possible thing - food wise that is - she eats people food. Mostly table scraps mixed with a little kibble but mainly table scraps or leftovers. I also fry ground beef, ground...

Orijen is on allocation to all suppliers. so I buy several bags when I go. I call my local store and have them notify me when they get their allocation in so I haven't had a problem to this point getting Orijen

We tried BB LBP when we got Loki and he got runny poo. I tried to feed less and more often and still runny poo. So we switched to Innova and the runny poo problem has stopped. Glad to hear I am not the only one who's puppy didn't do so well on it.

at one time there was a difference in the Ca levels between the adult and large breed puppy formulas. last i checked, they are now the same. otherwise, i dont see anything that make the large breed puppy a better choice than the adult (outside of marketing) for a gsd pup. i think they are both virtually identical. if my store runs out of adult formula for my 2 1/2 year old, ill gladly just get some of the large breed puppy. same food, esentially.

No, you need to put some lotion on your dry hands! JK Puppy coat/wintercoat coming in together probably made him plush and soft. Are you also giving some raw egg, salmon oil/vitamin E? That to me makes all the difference.

Iams is about the best a shelter can do on their budget. They're going to tell you to buy that becuase they don't want you to change foods immediately - this will cause your dog to have the runs and possibly bring him back becuase he's pooping all over the place. When you do change foods, you want to mix half and half with the old and new food so he gets used to it. Shepherds can have delicate...

Hi there! The website for NV lists this is for ALL Live Stages and the first to meet AAFCO requirements for dog and cat food in a RAW form. The Nutrient Analysis can be found for each RAW diet by clicking on more information on the raw page - example: http://www.naturesvariety.com/raw_products and then I chose the information on chicken http://www.naturesvariety.com/raw_products_chicken ...

it is a decent food. IMO, it is not well designed for growing large breed puppies. Orijen is the only grainfree id feed to a growing gsd. Orijen may cost more in Canada, but the people i know who feed it can feed less of it, as TOTW is one of the least caloric dense grainfree foods on the market. BTW, saw some pics of Yriw. georgious dog.

Welcome to you! Fromm is okay and I would keep pup on it at least until she settles in after the holidays, maybe a few weeks? Then decide what you want to feed and transition slowly. Christmas is always hectic so please make sure she has a quiet place for some down time during all the gift opening and visiting etc. I bet the website was http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com As your baby is now 12 ...

I would go to three feedings a day if possible for a month or so. First thing in the morning, right when you get home from work and then before bedtime. Feed smaller portions. Blue Buffalo is rich and he may be getting too much per feeding, though you don't want to limit his nutriton. Over feeding can be a cause for runny stools. You can also give a bit of yogurt for the probiotic benefits....
