Removing an email address
Published (2009-12-19 09:20:00)
if you remove an email address from your profile then you should no longer be found by someone using it to locate your Skype name with Skype Directory search if you are saying otherwise, then something is wrong, and it really needs to be reported as a bug -- I personally don't think there is a bug, but it wouldn't be the first time I was mistaken but don't forget that it takes some time to update the global directory throughout...

New Conversations
Published (2009-12-18 16:40:00)
Hi Neil, Thanks for the reply. I found "remove from conversations" and it's not bad, for years when I used the old-fashioned MSN etc., I was always wanting something even remotely similar to how skype works, eg, conversations in a tab, but still Skype unfortunately must still open another window, and the user cannot dismiss a conversation outright. Skype is very good but it seems features never arrive, only stability...

QUOTE (Redlegbunny @ Fri Dec 4 2009, 15:01) Go to the original post My question is...if I get myself a netbook for uploading photo's, video, email etc while I'm travelling can I add Skype (already in use on home PC) and use it in hotels that advertise as having internet access to keep in touch with family in the UK and friends in Australia either through calling, chat or SMS's ? Yes you can use Skype anywhere...

At Last! I have found a way to post a New Topic! Sign in to Skype Community, then click on Forum Guidelines, Then Community Guidelines, then Community Forums. This takes you to a page with Windows, Mac, Linux etc. "Windows" is in BLACK - move cursor over Windows and it turns blue, click this, and NEW TOPIC appears near top right with a green cross. Good luck - but do try to check the Knowledgebase first to see...

Making Skype Better
Published (2009-12-12 11:45:00)
I haven't made an outward phonecall that had a decent quality since...maybe a year! I have the Pro subscription that isnt there anymore but costs me 2€ a mont and I feel I get nothing! Almost all calls are "I will have to call you back" "I will text you instead", not good if there isnt the option of getting a land-line.. Also there is no way to monitor the price of the call anymore? I...

anyone use the zx6000
Published (2009-12-12 06:07:00)
i know this is replying to a very old post that isn't even in the right section, but whatever. it can still help people that google for the zx6000 and skype, because this post comes up as one of the first results. I use the zx6000 for skype, and it works great. the only thing that bothers me is that you can't use the "Windows Live™ Call Button" to answer or hang up calls. the battery life is great, i have had mine...

QUOTE (Raul Liive @ Mon Dec 14 2009, 16:00) Go to the original post I would suggest you to contact our customer support about this. they can help you there. This is not much of an answer. Today I just signed up and mistakenly thought that "privacy" actually meant that no one would be able to connect my email to my skype name. Just to try it I searched under my email address and lo and behold my skype name...

QUOTE (webcaster1 @ Thu Dec 10 2009, 17:45) Go to the original post I keep getting notices to use my Skype credit or lose it but I'm using it almost every week and watching the total amount tick down. I still keep getting the notices that I'm not using it. Anyone else having this problem? same here. I was made aware about my inactivity, so I used as instructed before their due date and now they have said I have lost...

You're right, it totally sucks and has for awhile now. It's amazing that users paying good money put up with this bizarre, Web 1.0 service!

Because Just_Trish, Skype is a total ripoff. I read about Skype on some site talking about VOIP. I have read for months about how Skype is inexpensive and easy to use. I have a need to use a VOIP becuase of the need for Internet conference calls over a specific business client. So I finally tried Skype. Once I signed up and paid a fee that I had only $1.25 USD credit for calls. I also found...

Ditto. And despite repeated emails all the money I spent trying to use SMS is down the hole, and our friends at skype support's 48 hour response time now sits at a week with no reply.

Have you tried contacting Polycom, quite a few of us were beta testers for that product, and they seemed pretty helpful. If you are having trouble I may be able to find some contact to ask.
