John Wayne style... La Canne, La Scherma di Bastone, Irish Shillelagh..... We kinda' starting to discuss this in another thread, but does anyone have any practical experience in any of these arts or another that I may not be aware of? What (if any) similarities do they share with FMA?

I don't mean how many of us are so crippled that we need them to walk! How many of you train with the walking cane as a weapon? Do you adapt what you already know from your style or study a style that teaches it i.e. Canemasters?

As I continue to recover from knee surgery , I need a cane inside for stairs and outside when walking in the woods behind our house. The outside use would make it very muddy, so I ordered a second cane: The Root Knobbed Blackthorn , effectively an Irish
shillelagh. It tapers a bit more toward the ground end than I had expected but it has a nice weight and comfortable feel, looks beautiful ...
