Hi, I have just moved to Nashville TN and had searched to find no Kali or JKD here. So, I am looking for others interested in training. I do not claim to be a "master" or "guru/sifu" by any means but have trained quite a bit with Guru Dan Inosanto, Sifu
Larry Hartsell, Guru Ken Pannell, Sifu Charles Reed, and many others. If anyone I meet has more experience than me, great. If not, I will be ...

This isn't exactly a
Kali issue, but I was speaking with yet another JKD instructor last night who is shying away from using the JKD name because of both the arguments between original/concepts/nucleus/etc. groups, and the fears that the Lee family is trying to enforce a trademark on "Jeet Kune Do" that would force those using the name to pay them a licensing fee. in retrospect. I really liked the wing chun for empty hand encounters and of course the FMA for weapons encounters. I would encourage anyone studying JKD to go back to the roots of each art and study one of them only for some ...

Hello everyone. This is my first time writing in the forum, though I have read the forums for awhile now. I have trained in the Inosanto/Lacoste system for at least a few years now. I've also trained or have been exposed to other FMA systems (
Pekiti-Tirsia and Doce Pares for instance). Since many of us cross train in several FMA's (along with the Inosanto/Lacoste system for some of us...

Does anyone know
what the story is with Paul Vunak's new DEFCON program? What exactly will it entail? Is it just a new marketing program, or a real shift in philosophy? Details here: Quote: DEFCON is the newest training curriculum within the PFS philosophy. What is the reason we study Martial Arts in the year 2006? Our personal answer first and foremost, is the protection of our loved ones and...
