Free p&p .

A cynic might say that most of those "99p with 49.99 P&P" items were listed by ebay themselves to create a premise for the free P&P debacle. That would require thought and planning..... I V Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience! P.S. Don't Feed the Trolls!

Item Not Arrived Claim

Fig. I have always taken the view that the overwhelming majority of people I deal with are going to be honest and helpful. And I usually find they are. (even bureaucrats) Personally I would rather go through life with that attitude and find very occasionally I am disappointed, than view everyone with suspicion.

FREE LISTINGS 99P SELLERS
Published (2009-11-10 08:08:00)
. #4 What's Lucky about it? There's no option to list GTSold, or BIN's at a fair price, and being forced, due to listing fees, to list slow-selling Items for 0.99p that then sell under their value - often to some Seller who then put's them on a BIN or GTC at the right price - is total injustice and another rip-off for the small guy. . If a Private seller doesn't have the volume of sales to warrant opening a Shop then...

FORCED FREE POSTAGE IS WRONG...
Published (2009-11-08 22:28:00)
So why did ebay bring in free listing for items under £1 in March? I used to list over 200 items every week, all starting at 99p. but about 98% of them sold first time round, for an average price of about £5. I didn't list a load of stuff that nobody wanted, week after week, month after month, just in the vague hope that somebody, sometime might show an interest in it. Free listing encourages that - I'm sure we all remember the...

FORCED FREE POSTAGE IS WRONG...

if eby are that concerned they should start selling things themselves like amazon do A very reasonable statement given the comparisons that eBay directorship has been making. Deals with Buy.com and the like still won't actually see eBay as selling, only facilitating. The fact that they really don't have any risk element as such with their platform, it may be near impossible for them to pull back and away from the clear picture most...

WHO IS LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR...
Published (2009-11-03 12:13:00)
It is eBay's responsibility to correctly inform the members, not mine. You should ask eBay why they tell the European Commissioners that eBay transactions are not auctions, albeit that when I tell the members this, the advice is not so welcome. Instead of the welcome they prefer to post advice from the OFT as if to suppose that eBay is an auction whereby private individuals sell as private individuals albeit that they know that this is...

Buyer wants to wire money
Published (2009-11-02 17:44:00)
Since everything I sell is auction, and often fetches a lot more than I expected, (though not always, worse luck) I have the leeway to be pretty free and easy about payment, I usually say 'use any reasonable rate for the conversion' and leave them to do for themselves. af

Tree, look in some of the non compulsory 'free P&P' categories - you will find some people listing inclusive P&P by choice!

My policy is to pay up straight away when this happens - and ask the buyer to pay when the item DOES turn up. If they have bought from me in the past and are regulars - No problem. That's an end to it - and sometimes I do get the cash. But, if they are new and I don't know them, then in the mean time I add them to the BLOCKED buyers list. I email all my fellow sellers in my specialist area ...

#1323 you have said what you can see loads have already said, but its good, maybe ebay or their little "helpers" will take note before it is too late. So the more people complain the better. And if buyers cannot get bargains they will go elsewhere like E??? Keep plugging E??? to your buyers, friends etc the more than know about it the better

It is possible they may have been caught up in the backlog but there is no harm in contacting the seller just to find out when they actually sent them to you. It is also possible if the items do not fit through the letterbox they could be sitting at your local sorting office awaiting collection, not all posties leave a card so it could be worth contacting them just to check. Keeping ...

Hi J. You should only be receiving one email from PayPal advising of payment received. Plus, you'll receive one from eBay advising you sold the item. As there are fake emails around, it's always best to log direct into PayPal and check payments there i.e. don't click on links. If payment shows as 'complete' it's o.k. to post the item and you should do so within 7 days if you want to meet the ...

I've been selling (and buying) on ebay for nearly 10 years. A few weeks ago Ebay imposed "FREE Post and packing" on all sellers in the MEDIA categories. This is an example of how this works for me as a seller of vinyl LP records. Before the change I could list items at 99p start price and give my postage rates in my listings. Listing at 99p was free of listing fees. If a UK buyer bought say four...

Can I come in here as both a buyer and seller. Firsly I have read so many rants about free P/P and the effect on sales because of higher start prices. Now we have sellers wanting to add even more onto the sale. As a buyer I would have hesitation whatsoever in pressing the back button on any listing which displays surcharges.

Legal responsibility depends on many factors but, if paid by Paypal, the legality is irrelevant. If paid by Paypal YOU are responsible.
