Agreed this topic isn't brand new but the OP apparently posted and ran back in September and has stayed away ever since. No buying, no selling, no posting, just did a runner. All things considered, that was probably a wise move since he wasn't happy but I never understand why folks feel a need to rant on their way out. A quiet exit would seem to make more sense.

I have partially refunded a few (more than a few) customers during negotiations. So when I do a partial refund it refunds the associated paypal fees, but does it also refund the partial ebay fees? Do i need to contact ebay and ask for a partial refund?

In answer to this question, I've put together a bunch of information to help folks get started. It's not anything I make $ from, just some info to help out. Click here. Sallie

I did a partial refund on used equipment that didn't work to the buyers expectations. There was a refund from PayPal but not on eBay FVF. If you get one Surf, let us know.

A Great Place Called Ebay!

Well, I found a whole lot in Paypal the most, Ebay much more stable but there are some design issues that...

I'd say it's more likely due to the fact that the OP was posted back in September. Here's the bottom line. Yes eBay's fees are higher than some other websites. But eBay's traffic is also higher than those sites. If you want more traffic, the marketing...

I'm not sure if I totally understand all you are asking as you didn't say just how many pieces you were wanting to list in one lot or where the person is from. But, there are all kinds of listings on eBay of people that sell their products wholesale and in bulk. You would be listing the item as a Fixed Price so your listing fee would be small. Before listing, make sure you have all overhead...

It's not a scam if it's clearly spelled out up front for all to read. Sounds more like 'sour grapes' from someone who didn't take the time to d'do the math' upfront, when they were making their inventory selection/acquisition. Let's say you haggled with your boot supplier a bit more before jumping in to make the purchase. Instead of paying $100 (currency makes no difference - this is math)...

This is a good question Mike. Separate from cancelled or other disputed transactions (e.g. buyer didn't pay) I've never received a partial refund on ebay fees, only a partial refund on the paypal fees. I've done maybe 12-14 partial refunds over the years, but they were for shipping situations in which I charged too much and decided to give the buyer a partial refund on shipping. I...

Oops, "I've noticed in the past that requesting feedback from sellers helps me to get a few more feedbacks. " meant to say: I've noticed in the past that requesting feedback from BUYERS helps me to get a few more but not as many as I'd like

It is volume. Staples is a national chain and an item they stock for all their stores is going to bought at prices we will never see. Check with your wholesaler for items they carry that are not available in national chain stores. We small business cannot compete with national chains that sell below our "wholesale" prices. You might as well buy them at Staples, save yourself cost ...

It is a good idea in many cases to have an ID for selling and an ID for buying. Since you have good feedback on this ID, why not keep it for selling and open a new one for buying.

"My buyer offered to buy off eBay for three auctions." I would have blocked the buyer right there and be done with it. You don't need to see negative feedback of problem buyers when they repeatedly wave a red flag at you. I had one potential buyer email me repeatedly with questions after I had given him a link with the product manual/user guide that would answer all his questions....

Shipping insurance is a sure fire way to put the responsibility on the buyer who says a purchase has not arrived. Not according to the eBay and PayPal User Agreements. It is actually the seller's responsibility to ensure that the order is delivered to the buyer's address, in as described condition. Yes insurance may put off an unscrupulous buyer. However Delivery Confirmation will do ...

I've always used 7 day listings as they are easier to determine exactly when the listing will end. I did try a few 10 day listings long ago. Mostly because the item(s) were outside my normal product lines and I wanted the get that dual-weekend exposure. Unfortunately, I don't recall if the items sold or not - I'm thinking they did, but that fact just wasn't memorable enough to retain....

I don't know about eBay, but it is a hairy thing with newsletters and stuff. Buyers sometimes may feel ... "harrassed" might not be the word, but maybe "pressured". I sold some boxes and to the Buyers I send a Christmas Card with a 10% off Coupon inside... so that might be something...

I sent a package to Russia a few months ago and it took forever to get there. I think the time was just about 6 weeks. There is a phone # that you can call to try to locate a package, you can get the phone# from your local post ...

Hey, Careful with the pick up items. I read a story from a seller who had someone pick it up and then file as not delivered. The seller could not do anything because there was no confirmation:/
