I would let it go, it will probably finish fine. You can always test with a short clip first, that will verify if everything is working OK.

I downloaded the trial for DV kitchen, and put my media in. Its a mov file, and I need it transferred to Flash. I did everything to set it up and pressed the start button, it looked like everything was going fine. It showed a processing bar that told me how much was done. It got to 7% and wouldn't go farther. So after waiting for about 45 min I stopped it, and tried it again. Once again it gets to 7% and stops. Anyone know what I should do?

DV Kitchen vs. Any Video...
Published (2010-03-11 00:32:00)
I don't see how it even could be better. I'd say if your web developer can't handle publishing h.264 or flv from DV Kitchen you should fire them.

DV kitchen just quits sometimes

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The OS drive did verify with no problems AND I repaired permissions on a few items that verify permissions noted. That was a week ago. I spent 20 years in the software business, and based on my experience, I think neither one of us has the data necessary to state that the problem is not a DV Kitchen problem. It is the only application exhibiting this behavior, which points to DVK. On the other hand, the behavior...

DV Kitchen vs. Any Video...
Published (2010-03-11 00:32:00)
I'm creating a website that's going to have lots of video. I use Final Cut Pro for my editing. I already own DV Kitchen but I'm being advised to purchase Any Video Converter by the staff working on my website. I will be shooting the videos in HD and wish to output the highest quality possible and want most (if not nearly all) PC users to be able to view the videos with no problems. Will Any Video Converter be a better product...

Published (2010-03-18 07:20:00)
Hi I'm a Freelance TV/Film Editor/ex-cam asst. that's interested in getting back on-set. I've done DIT work for a few friends on their short films, but I think I want to really start doing it in earnest between editing gigs. Any ideas on where I can take a proper DIT course? Thanks guys! KK

Do you know MTS?

I think I've brought this up before, but I don't think I asked for it in this way before.
I find myself using DV Kitchen more and more for lots of different purposes. I have made a few custom recipes for various things and I find that now I choose "do not upload" more often than not.
It would help me organize if I could choose the local destination folder from a list of recently used ...

I just made a 7-minute movie for a non-profit organization and it contains numerous cross-dissolves.
Hands-down, the playback is much smoother in Quicktime than Flash:

I've recently experienced a kind of " silent death" thing with DV kitchen. I will start up a job (several files, not a huge number) and it will encode one or more then it just disappears. Since there is no doc about temp files or those mystery files that end up in the trash, I have no way to tell you more about this.
During the last time this happened, I did open the file that had ...

I have hundreds of 150-250MB video files to upload. My bandwidth is decent and each file takes between 25-40 minutes to upload. Ideally I would like to load a dozen or so into the bin and let it go overnight.
Problem: DV Kitchen usually gets to the second file and then stops due to an upload error.
I've tried both "active" and "passive" in the preferences window and haven't noticed ...
