I've created an image in Photoshop and imported it into Final Cut Express, but whenever I bring it into the timeline it loses a ton of quality. I assumed it was a render problem, but that also doesn't seem to work. Any Suggestions?

Not sure what to do here. Have it hooked up with the fire wire and just trying to do a basic capture, but apparently it's not recognizing the camera. I just keep getting the "unable to initialize the video deck" message. Any suggestion? Thanks.

My guess is an error in FCE install left you with missing components. Can't believe Apple told you to talk to Canon, that's lame. They might as well have sent you to your Firewire cable manufacturer I would reinstall FCE and check for updates, also update Quicktime.

I've got some very over-exposed video I want to get as "normal" as possible using Final Cut Express. Anyone have settings to use?

Being new to FCE, I want to capture correctly from the beginning. I have a 24" 3.06 iMac with 1 FW400 an 1FW800 port. I have a GDriveQ and want to begin capture of footage from my HV30. Should I capture onto the iMac internal HD or to the GDrive. I want to use the GDrive as my video file storage. What is the proper set-up to make this happen? BTW great info and product DVkitchen from Josh ...

I feel like i've been dealing with this issue for at least 8+ hours today...Calgon, where are you!?! Anyway, here is the issue. I've got several newspaper scans at 300 dpi imported in as .jpgs to my FCE project. I've got motion on most of them where the camera zooms in and then scrolls with the headline. On FCE canvas and QT, I do see a bit of jagged lines as I scroll but on DVD and TV,...

Hi, I keep getting dropped frames when capturing from a canon camera, i know the drive is unlikely to be fragmented as it is a brand new Imac. has any one got any ideas as to why this keeps happening? I've tried different cameras and fire wire cables, but still the same problem.
