Cuts and scratches are used to cover up the fact that you can't make a smooth mix without them lol. No lie - I'm sure even steven18 will admit to this. It's like when you listen to these radio DJs try to mix and then during their transitions, they throw in "YOU'RE LISTENING TO 95.5 THE BEAT WITH DJ ROCK ROCK ROCK LIVE IN DA MIX MIX MIX!!" to cover up the shitty transition. And then you have these hip hop...

I'd leave replies involving brands as simply opinion...and one should not take it personally. So if one believes that someone who isn't on Technics 1200s, Pioneer mixer, SSL, and MBP isn't a DJ...just take it as an opinion and not "law". Lord knows I'm big with breaking standards. I use Windows PCs, a Vestax Mixer, and Torq.

I think I stereotype anyone as bad if they dress too much "like" a dj, be it hiphop or edm.

Best of luck fella Is the bar quite on Monday and Wednesday ? If so.. Just an idea, you could always use up one of them days (mon-weds) to set up a open decks night.. that way you get to know more Dj's alike in the area and fill the bar a little. Have about 5-8 play per night, 45min each. That way they bring friends, if each Dj brings 10-15 freinds, it works out ok. Also on the that night you could push the other night you'll be...

Does it have anything to do with the sushi restaurant? Or is it just where it's at?

I would guess they sync up the acapella with the original, and they would
have more than two CDJs or whatever they're using, with micheal jackon
already beatmatched up to the song. so all he has to do is kill the
original song leaving the acapella playing and hit play on the micheal
jackson at the same time.

funny funny! not to bash tiesto good at what he does because it works for

Dunno. I have never done it, and I can safely say that I will never try it. BUT, I do not dog DJs who do it.

No one really looks at the first page; it's just for new gear announcements. I just go straight to the forums... it's one of my tabs that appears when I boot up google chrome.
This isn't exactly a board about other types of music, just for DJing and EDM. If you want a convo about non-EDM there are plenty of music boards out there.

They're paying you, right?
So that means you play the stuff they ask for.
Gather up as much of it as you can and have it on backup. You might think your music could rock that crowd, but you could show up and suddenly they're requesting the stuff from the list and hating what you're playing.
Believe me...stuff like this has happened. When you're being paid to please the masses then you ...
