Fuzz Face DIY: need more fuzz
Published (2008-11-27 15:28:00)
Post #10 If you use a booster circuit between the fuzz circuit and the guitar, it will make the fuzz circuit respond a lot differently than if it were connected directly to the guitar, though (it would sound more like a high gain distortiong such as a Big Muff than like the classic Fuzz Face sound). I'd recommend getting higher gain transistors myself. The hfe 90 one should be perfect for Q1, so you really only need a single transistor...

Audio Delay 0-20 millisec...
Published (2008-11-29 07:01:00)
Post #2 If all you need is delay, any decent DSP chip with onboard ADC/DAC would do the trick. Even a dedicated ADC/DAC pair + multipurpose microcontroller would probably do. In any case, you might consider an external memory chip to increase the delay (say you have a 44.1kHz/24bit stream stereo, then you'll need 264.6 bytes of free buffer for each millisecond). But having a DSP chip and knowing how to program it gives you more...

Post #4 Hi, Your talking compression and limiting, both useful for bass amplifiers. Probably you can get way with using a decent bass pedal as a preamplifier into that class D amplifier, and setting up the pedal to prevent overdriving (by limiting) and increase sustain (by compression). The pre-amplifier does need all the features, though in my bass amplifier it seems limiting is built around the power amplifier. (Peavey mk111) /sreten. IP:...

grounding issue Post #5 you may have already solved your problem... (am not sure what pick-ups /switching you've done, but fact you can touch strings...and buzz quits? Try taking shielding (meaning the wrap around wire) to ground...(or) one of (2) wires to ground.... see what happens. IP: Logged

Audio Delay 0-20 millisec DIY?Matching miked and line signal Post #1 Im thinking of making a box to match a miked ampsignal with a line signal.A short delay varible around 0-20 millisec could work as i can compare the signals on my computer. Do anyone have a idea for a chip and a schematic for this? Sen these phase-allignment boxes but they are pretty expensive. IP: Logged

Bass guitar amp design guidelines Post #1 Hi, I would like to know if anyone could suggest me a schematic for a bass guitar amp. I'm looking for a Class-D type of amp of around 100W, or something simple without tubes. I have found this design but I don't know if it's suitable for a bass guitar: http://www.hobby-hour.com/electroni...r-...

Fuzz Face DIY: need more fuzz Post #1 Hi all, I recently started with my first DIY guitar effect: a fuzz face. I got the parts from a local electronics store, they did not have the preferred transistors for the fuzz face, so I took the only germanium transistors he got: AC187K. The fuzz works, but to my opinion, not enough The lower ...

Looking for a good humbucker Post #1 Hey guys, I'm fixing up a Strat replica that I'd like to replace some of the pickups with humbuckers. I know they don't necessarily fit, but I don't mind drilling and cutting out chops of wood, but I do know that the bridge position doesn't need alteration. I've come to not like the twang of single coils as ...

It will use op-amp buffering and is meant to NOT affect or "color" the tone of the guitars in any way. Here is my problem: I have identified what I *think* is a good ...
