We've stayed as long as 9 days and found it to be wonderful! We were able to take our time and not feel like we were rushed off our feet for the entire trip. We spent more time at the resort, enjoyed the pool and finally got to spend a day at a waterpark. If finances allow, a long(er) Disney trip is just wonderful.

Feb trip no longer a surprise
Published (2009-11-26 15:30:00)
I was waiting until Christmas to surprise DH and DS with our upcoming Feb trip to WDW but my DS had to have emergency surgery so I told him about the trip to try to make him feel better. He wasn't thrilled beyond words because he still had to have surgery but not that it is over he is starting to talk about it since it is only 80 days until our trip, he doesn't have a huge wait for it. I've been keeping the secret since July....

We've done ten, and it does make it seem like you can relax and slowly savor things...Split between hotels a couple of times--last time it was the pirate rooms at CBR and then POR. (Should have done pirate rooms last--it was so hard to leave! I still cried when I left!

We drive straight through from Pittsburgh. It takes us about 15.5 hrs if we leave around 7pm and drive all night with a stop for a nice breakfast. We usually arrive around 11:30am the next day. In March, we left home around 8:30am and drove all day, stopping for 3 meals, all fast-food. Traffic was much busier during the day and we didn't arrive until 1:30am. I think the actual driving time was about the same but we arrived about 1.5 hrs...

AKL has some nice opportunities. 1. Consider the night vision goggles available on roof. 2. The pool is zero entry and some days in March will be warm enough. 3. Nature viewing on Savannah with the native host.

I believe that you can "check-in" anytime after 7am. Your room mostly likey won't be ready, but they will store your luggage, and you can get your park passes, etc and start enjoying your vacation.
We've checked-in as early as 10am, and had our room ready, but it really doesn't matter as you can either call the resort to get your room number (no need to go back to the front desk), or they ...

Sorry to hear about the surgery- but glad all went well! A Disney trip would certainly give *ME* a strong incentive to get well soon!!
Have a great time.

I'm assuming you have tickets to MVMCP. If so, starting at 4pm they will hand out bracelets. I also suppose you are asking what to do with your MVMCP tickets, such as return to the turnstiles to scan in. That's a very good question. I think that as long as you show a MVMCP ticket to the bracelet people, you're good to go.
If you don't have MVMCP tickets, after dinner you are expected ...

We thought it was well worth it for our trip back in September. My DW freaks if she thinks we will not be able to sit together!!
On the way out, not so much as the plane was only 1/3 full, but on the way back, SW was asking for people to take a voluntary 'bump' because the plane was overbooked.
Both times, we were the first group to board after Business Select and "A" List passengers.

Just make a good strategy and you can handle anything. It's a great time to
go for weather. Crowds start gaining the midweek before Easter and start
dying down the midweek after, but during that time frame, crowds are pretty
high.

Yes- we went for many years during that time. It varies so prepare for
anything. Usually little to no rain- but we've had 79-80 degrees and we've
had 62 degrees. Dress for layers and be sure to pack something warm- long
pants, socks, sweatshirt- just in case. The first time we went we had 80
degrees and sunshine. The next year it was 62 and all I had packed was
shorts. I was freezing! It doesn't ...

Here are some suggestions -
Try different modes of transportation (without going into the parks). Take a ride on the monorail from the Ticket & Transport Center to Epcot and back. Take a boat from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom and back (or vice versa).
Play one of the mini-golf courses (Fantasia, Winter Summerland).
Visit some of the resorts - eg. Polynesian, Caribbean Beach, ...

Crowds start dropping off fairly quickly after Jan 1-2, but I've just found
you can't believe any past crowd guesstimates. All the patterns seem to be
changing. I was always told january is a dead time, but I was there during
the second week of january last week for a conference and found the crowds
to be moderate. Then I was told the first week of May is a great time to
go. No crowds at all. So,...

I noticed on the Southwest on-line check in field that it asks for
confirmation # and last/first name of passenger. Do I have to do each
passenger seperately or does the confirmation # check in the entire party?
