Have you searched for tutorials here on dA? Google is one of my best friends. Many bead store and magazine websites have instructional videos and/or photo-tutorials, too. Also, check and see if YouTube has any jewelery-making vids. I very briefly thought about making some basic skill tutorials but there are just so many out there already, there's no need to reinvent the wheel, you know?...

You could find a pair of pants that fit well at an op-shop for a couple of bucks, take it apart and use it as a pattern. Just widen it a hell of a lot as it goes down. Then you know it'll fit right up top. I know jack all about sewing though, just what i've taught myself. It should work though eah.

I recently sarted Macrameing strips of big bag on my dress form which will hopefully after a few months of knotting will becone some kind of dress. I made a dress out of newsspaper a while ago as well and i love usuing trinkets and bits of old toys and stuff to make jewlrey and stuff. I always feel so bad throwing things out if they can be used to make somthing new!
