ISD 6.1.2 installation script...
Published (2009-11-27 05:17:00)
I found the problem. The script verifies whether the server and the OS resources representation of the ISD server are in state 2 (I guess OK) before applying the patch version. My service processor (server resource) is in a 'offline' state and because of this the script can't go ahead with the update process. So the real problem is this: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=311138&tstart=0

Thanks Jeremy. It says that FULL install only (So i assume no CORE) Do we have any ideas when support for CORE will be added ? We are adding more and more CORE installs (For e.g. Hyper-V) all the time.

ISD 6.1.2 BMC Connected...
Published (2009-11-27 09:55:00)
I have BMC only connected pieces of hardware (i.e. no access to OS, or agent installed). They are x3650 7979-AC1's with up to date firmware. Director server running v6.1.2 I have discovered the BMCs and collected inventory. In the inventory System > Server listing it has not picked up the Model, Type or Serial number of the machines. I know this information is available via IPMI - if I log in manually via ipmitool, I can use...

Monitor SAN Path by Director 6.1
Published (2009-11-23 08:56:00)
This very much depends on a number of factors, but essentially, you could try one of the following: 1. If the HBA's driver/software and see if either will generate an even into the OS event log. If so, you could get Director to pick this up and report it as an event. 2. If the HBA is detected in Inventory, it could generate WMI events, in which case, you can subscribe to them, if they're not already subscribed. 3. Use the SAN...

Hi guys, I have been reading about openssh installation and implementation on the forum and has been a little confused. I have some pseries systems running on AIX 5.3. Hope someone can help me. Currently, I do not have openssh install on my servers. From what I read, I have to install openssl from the disc " AIX toolbox for Linux Apllications for POWER Systems". Major problems with IBM Director...
Published (2009-11-25 08:26:00)
Has anyone successfully installed and is using 6.1 under Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2? The install goes fine but I get a lot of Java errors when using it. I did manage to get patch 6.1.1.2 installed, but when I try and install patch 6.1.2, it won't come up. THe nonstop.log file shows connectivity error 10061, and can't connect to localhost port 9516. I've re-installed Director a couple of dozen times with the same results. This...

Im having problems with some clients contacting the Agent Manager. For example i have an older x335 series server, on which is win2k3. I have installed the dir6.1_commonagent_windows.exe specifying the correct management server, then the serveraid_9.00_level1_windows.exe serveraid agent and finally serveraid 9.0 "setup_srm_x86.exe" The client does not register with the director server, and if I manually find it, I only get DCOM and...

Excellent advise - consider doing an smsave before you start and secondly after it claims it has completed importing the updates watch CPU activity and let it settle down before you are tempted to restart the server. James
