I missed this question as I was still on vacation. Here is a link to the Carnival information page. The Wedding Department phone number is at the bottom of the page. Dwayne

papa55, I've written many times that more people will take time to complain than take time to write good reviews. I don't understand it either. I, too, am thankful every minute I'm on board a ship. I only wish it could be more often. I don't think I could EVER get bored cruising, EVER. I have never had a bad cruise, just some better than others

I wouldn't worry about it. The complainers are the same people you see in daily life who whine about everything. They just can't be happy unless they find fault with something. We see it here all the time - people will say their whole 7 night cruise was horrible because of some minor thing. Their waiter forgot the extra butter and suddenly all the food was bad, all the service was bad, the entertainment was bad, and they want a full...

Maybe it's me. I am not exactly high society. I have been a 7th & 8th grade social studies teacher for 25 years so my outlook on relaxation and entertainment may be different than that of the refined cruiser. All I know is that it is the perfect vacation for my wife and me. I just wished I had discovered how much fun it was years ago. Papa

I don't think it's the people who cruise too much; rather the people who expect too much. Papa, I don't get it either. I just sit back and enjoy.

Shipboard Weddings

Do they offer discounts to those associated with the wedding who sail? Call Carnival at 1-800-CARNIVAL and speak to them about the wedding package. I am going on the Valor next year and we are having a wedding on board. The prices are very good.

The Lure Of The Sea
Published (2009-11-23 13:00:00)
I can't remember when I last posted this, but it makes me want to cruise. The Lure of the Sea There is a ship That calls to me So graceful gliding through the seas, And on its decks I'll feel so free To stroll there in the ocean breeze. There was a time When I was young, And sailing ships were in my dreams, The whaling songs That I heard sung Of ventures in the ocean's streams. The crashing surf, The rocky shore, The lighthouse...

papa55, we don't understand it either. I read a review right here a while back of a cruise that a good friend of mine just heppened to be on. The two accounts were as different as night and day; you wouldn't think they were on the same ship. As Dave said, some people let one little problem color their opinion of the whole cruise. But fortunately they are very few in number; they just happen to usually be very vocal. What's the...

Hi Corkgirl, In my humble opinion, cruising the Carribean is so enjoyable, I definitely have stops that I enjoy more than others, St Maarten being a FAV. Like many others, Jamaica is beautiful, but the conditions there make it less enjoyable. I happen to like smaller ships, and truthfully enjoy the savings of not going on the newest, biggest ship. But if I am cruising the Carribean, after 19 ...

Generally cruise prices offered are the same no matter where you go...small agency, large agency, direct with a cruise line, on-line travel seller (like Travelocity). We always suggest a new cruiser use an agent and not do it on your own. Even after years of cruising I still use an agent. In particular, Royal Caribbean claims they will punish any agent or company they catch rebating ...

Dave- Great cost comparison- a true attaboy for you!! Something that is becoming increasingly apparent to veteran cruisers is that additional costs which are being imposed by the mainstream cruiselines are not happening to the same extent on the more upscale cruiselines! The biggest difference being that the upscale cruiser is paying more "up front"! Whereas the mainstream cruiser will pay ...

Welcome to cruise-chat. You've done both lines, so you know they are more alike than they are different. I'd simply go with the best price and itinerary and not dwell on the cruise line. You are closer to building more loyalty with Carnival - on your 10th Carnival cruise you get special onboard perks - so you might want to stick with them. Caribbean weather is usually calm in the winter, but ...

I have noticed this too in the past few days. In fact there was quite a time lag between hitting the "reply" button and the screen coming up. I thought it was just me. Glad to know I'm not alone. Judy

There is a big discussion on trip advisor in the Miami forum They seem to be operating under other names as well. If you made your payment to the TA & NOT to the cruise line for a promised discount or OBC you may be out of luck.
