dog toys? i used to have a roommate with a dog who loved socks. any kind. every time i'd do my laundry and then find a sock w/ a hole in it, i'd donate it to rocky who was happy to take it off my hands i'm sure he didn't even appreciate the fact that i washed it first. i kind of miss having him around to donate my holey socks to.....

I like your idea of making new paper, maybe you could embroider a quote that is special to you on it. origami would be a simple answer - maybe something like a frog or a balloon a purse - paint it or cover it and add some handles
tear it up and use it to papermache something small sounds like a fun challenge
