Well, I can say that if there is a new build in the works, much like other OS builds, you will receive an email when it's pushed out. I'm always interested in the improvement of Flash and DX acceleration, so each build is awaited on with bated breath. When will the next release happen? I cannot say for certain because that's based on the dev's completing it enough to release. Again, much like the other OS versions. Betas...

That's an interesting glitch I haven't encountered. Can you try switching to a different windows manager (i.e. Metacity) and see if this same error continues? When you go full screen, is it maximizing across both monitors or just one?

Beta unexpected screen saver
Published (2009-12-29 07:50:00)
I installed the latest beta on a fresh install of jaunty and I am getting the boxee screen saver in the middle of watching something then it goes to windowed mode, like boxee thinks there is no activity even though a video is playing. I turned off the screen saver and it seems to have stopped. Anyone else get that? Wanted to know before I reported it as a bug.

Thanks for the help. New to Linux, now running ubuntu 9.10. seeking to create a truly kickass HTPC and see how Linux will hold up against windows 7 hooked up to a 47' flat screen. Just got the machine and loading up the goods bit by bit. Any more software to try out? I would love to hear what other htpc owners run in Linux for media control, Upnp, etc. Have been with ubuntu for under a week ...

pps I deleted my user folder (~/.boxee) and reopened boxee... it set the default audio to analog and now all audio works (this didn't work in alpha). So it seems that calling it analog works, even for mkvs! thanks for listening.

Edit : Updated patch file. I recently upgraded to Kubuntu Karmic and, being that there was/is currently no package for 9.10, I elected to build it from the source, specifically, from the 0.9.14.6992 sources which can be found at http://dl.boxee.tv/boxee-0.9.14.6992-sources.tar.b z2 . This source release suffers from many errors and problems so I thought I'd record the steps needed to ...

Hi, I'm running Boxee beta r10069 on 32bit Karmic - I'm keen to get my music played through my hifi bit-perfect as most of them are Apple Lossless or Flac. I could have sworn that the Boxee Alpha on Jaunty automatically switched the sample rate of the spdif output to match the source and passthrough the audio bit-perfect, however the Beta on Karmic seems to resample everything to 48kHz....

Not totally sure what you mean by your question, but I'll attempt it. Picasa albums live on line. The Boxee app will load your albums from the online Picasa profile, but....but you have to make all your content public. Which is a total bummer. So, unless your make your vids and pic albums viewable to the entire world on Picasa...you can't see them in Boxee Picasa app. Hopefully, they ...
