That's down to the OP Dusty, but for enniscorthy I'd say he's more likely to find a club that can manage smallbore than one which can manage air.

What we need is a celeb who loves shooting ,or is seen to try it and say they want to take it up.Instant publicity then.

Why dont you ask your uncle if he'd let you dual license his gun, that way you could legally use the gun, at the moment if your caught with his gun firing it you'll get in a lot of trouble as firearms law in this country is quite strict, plus members of the Gardai visit this site. Another option is to shoot at a clay range, they can legally rent you a club gun for an evening and you would not need to be directly licensed to the gun...

it was a good long time ago that this happened ,13-14 years at a guess and there was trouble with turkey and another country probabily cyprus , but i cannot remember , they were out on the public footpath and fully armed , i remember thinking it was ironic that an irish citizen (or subject ) couldn't at that time get a pistol for target shooting but someone from a foreign country could brazenly stroll around with things like uzi's .
It wasn't me!

considering the lady stated she knows noting about hunting or firearms. but wants get a gift related to her fathers sport.it would be a fair conclusion to say a voucher for a outdoor store or gun shop would be a wise gift. it was not like she was getting him a gift voucher to dunnes stores or mcdonalds .

Was looking at the new application form. Could someone tell me what is expected in the Proof of Competence section and who should do character references. Also they want proof of membership of a club, firearm info and proof of gun safe. Thats pretty much the whole cost of the setup, all thats left is the license fee. Just wondering what are the "pass" rates for application being accepted as it would be poor form to get all...

Its a bit late if you sent it in after before the end of October to be recieveing it now but has it spent some time in the local station or did they look for additional information?

You have the money to buy a gun but not join a club? If you don't want to join a club then say it, it's not a necessity. Most supers will insist on you getting a safe and WHEN you do get one, ffs, use it. Too many idiots ruin it for the rest of us. You don't have to buy one, but if you are making one, make sure it's of good quality steel, with heavy locks. Bolting the safe to the wall is a good ...
