You can get the card paired to a sky + box which will allow him to record. However he will need a second cable to be brought in to allow the full functionality of the sky plus. 1 is needed..to view and the second allows you to record.. With the one feed he will only be able to watch whatever he is watching. Sky has introduced some security macros which they deny that contains macrovision and because of this many DVD recorders will not record...

Lidl Wireless Transmission Set
Published (2009-11-22 20:24:00)
Bought a different version of this a few years ago in Lidl or Aldi, not sure. It was useless. Lots of interference with the signal. If you sat in a certain place in the room the picture would go black and white. Even walking around the house caused interference. Wasn't put off by that and bought a more expensive kit in power-city. Same issues. Ended up running a cable to the other TV.

After a lot of searching and testing over the last few evenings I have found the following freeware programmes which definately work for me on SD Foxsat content. MediaCoder to covert .ts to .mpeg (very quick takes only a couple of minutes for 1 hour...

if you intend using the second sky box then you wont need magic eye. the magic eye will let you watch what is on the main sky box and control it from a different room. you will need to get a cable(ct100 or equivalent) from your satellite dish to the new position. connection to the lnb (part thats on the satellite dish) is an F connector how to and the other end goes into your sky...

What where you watching, some tv's will set the aspect ratio to that of the program and not the channel. For instance on Comedy Central, when ever I watch an old show like Fraiser the ratio changes to 4:3 but if I watch one of the new South Parks it stays at 16:9

to be honest, you won't get much simpler than a freesat box where you can delete most of the channels and there would only be 10-15 left that she can scroll up and down through,. Only thing is Irish would not be included
