You can get a battery pack for the flash which'll give you better recharge rates and longer use. With the Canon one, you can use 6 batteries or one rechargable one. You can get 3rd party ones aswell, just do a bit of research, some are better than the Canon one... some, stay well away for. Pay good money

Personally, I think it's subjective, very much like art. Current post modern idealist views on art, what is art, etc are often unintentional perpetrators of the "enfant terribles" of modern society. Sometimes you must create waves to surf the course. This thread sums it up perfectly: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showt...p?t=2055740425

Need help on a camera choice
Published (2009-12-01 16:54:00)
I use the Canon G9 as my "take everywhere" camera. I chose this over the G10 but I have heard really good things about the G11. I am not familiar with the Panasonic model.

I don't like a lot/the majority of the photographers that are up on pedestals.
I'm a fan of Newton, Arbus, Wall, The Bechers, Crewdson to a degree... few others of note, but I can't stand Cartier, Adams, etc.

The Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in to Photoshop CS3 is not directly compatible with 7D raw files. The version of ACR that comes with CS4, if updated to the latest version, will handle these files. Also Canon's own DPP software will process the files. Another option is to use Adobe's free DNG converter to turn ...

All depends what you want to do with the film
do you just want to develop the film and scan onto the computer
if so you just need a dev container and reels, chemicals and a changing bag
or if you want to print from the neg you are going to need an enlarger, trays, thermometer, paper as well as all the above
Give it a go you will be hooked soon

That's a nice shot.
I'd be interested in taking a similar shot having tried a good while ago but never having been happy with the results.
Won't be able to get out Wednesday night but if clear tomorrow night I may give it a try but suspect 200mm lens really won't be adequate

These are really good. The subjects look really awkward though, particularly the guy in the first one. I guess this is sort of the exact opposite of the criticism aimed at your first street set. It might be your awkwardness at approaching people reflected in them or something, so will pass as you get more confident and more able to put them at their ease.
As regards the composition, its a ...

Well I've only been taking photos with an eye to the 'aesthetic' (god i sounds so poncey!!!) for about a month (only 3 days out with the camera- BOO real life!!!), but I like shooting anything to do with water, sunsets, and I had a real blast the other night in London messing around after dark...
other than that, I do enjoy taking the photos on nights out, trying to get something more ...
