Hi If your eligible for the VEC grant from Ireland and as long as you fit all the requirements then you will recieve the grant while you are studying in the UK. You just have to get your college to fill up an additional form to confirm that you are studying there. None of the UK authorities will pay you a maintenance grant nor will they pay for your tuition fees. HOWEVER , if you are of Irish nationality and choose to study in Scotland then...

There's Erasmus grants for all EU countries from the EU. I know my friend went to scotland studying for 6 months and got a few hundred quid n i'm goin to malta for three months in january and im getting the same one. This grant doesn't apply for study lasting longer than one year though. Hope that helps. More information for grants at www.studentfinance.ie

Hi all, I'm looking into UWIC's Postgrad diploma in Event Management, and I'm wondering whether anyone has: a) studied at UWIC, and what are their impressions, and b) studied Event Management there, or elsewhere, and any opinions, thoughts, etc? Any suggestions of event management courses elsewhere would be appreciated. Thanks.

We enquired about this and concluded that you cannot get a VEC grant for postgraduate study in the UK.

If you get a 1.1 you should be okay, your application will need to be pretty good though. If you're going for a business/management masters you might want to think about applying to the London School of Economics as well. I think it's the highest ranking business uni in the UK.

Oxford Brookes isn't the same university as Oxford, nor is it part of the Oxbridge family. It's an ex-polytechnic that just happens to be in Oxford Is it Brookes or Oxbridge you're planning to apply to?

As LC is more advanced than GCSEs (but less so than A2 levels) they may compensate - best bet is to ask the college concerned directly. If you click here you can see the UCAS points equivalent to Leaving Cert subjects. That'll give you a rough idea of the equivalencies. http://www.ucas.com/students/ucas_ta...ifftables/# ilc

College life in edinburgh is brilliant. Most students live in marchmont or bruntsfield. There is a huge number of students in edinburgh and loads to do. The university you are talking about, Queen margaret university would not have the best reputation academically. The university of edinburgh on the other hand ( Nothing to do with queen margaret Uni) was recently ranked as the 20th best ...
