Lots of our customers have had them fitted. Only yesterday they were fitted to 7 VW Caddies (they'll be carrying lots of valuables). Tidy job, its all behind the dash, so none of it is visable. I dont know how well they work because its the customer who has the viewing portal, but its the same company that does the Cash vans so they must be decent.

I'v experience with the sniper self track unit, it is a sim card operated unit, it is subscription free which i think is what you are looking for, I wont link you to the product as im not sure on forum rules regards advertising.
the selftrack txts co-ordinates of your car to you, can be worked in conjunction with an alarm, has a back up battery and engine can be immobilised via txt message ...

FOR The A4 is roomy and is good to drive. Ownership costs are competitive and resale values should be high.
AGAINST The looks are unadventurous and the dash fussy. BMW's 3 Series is more fun to drive.
