Antenna Gain Question
Published (2009-11-03 14:20:00)
Hi folks... First post here so help appreciated... I am looking for an antenna to boost my weak 3G signal, from my research I understand that the HDSPA broadband signal is at 2100MHz. I have found the antenna below which is suitable for my mobile modem. My question is about the gain, it is quoted at 5dbi gain, I must admit I have no idea if this is a significant ammount or not.. Any inputs welcome....

I really really really hope the are NOT putting Echolink onto the Dublin repeater. EI2MOG should be loud enough in dublin i can hear it mobile down in Kildare anyway. Have not heard anything about the waterford box.

Hi, Try getting ur hands on old Motorola MCS 2000, It will run off ur car Batt. Output power is 12 -14 Watts Nominal but can go up to 25 W. ( Slightly an over kill for 2 mile range but no harm as VHF is line of sight) Or try the GP 340 / 360's same as above but probaly dearer because they r only out a few years. Motrola would be the company in question to purchase them. Depending on what ...
