Cheers nereid, yes there is a test transmission and the speakers showed up loud and clear with it. I'll play about with it when I get the chance, good excuse to watch the Simpsons for the first time in a while.

What were you thinking of driving them with? If they're just background I'd nearly be inclined to go for mono 100V speakers driven by a PA amplifier off the Tape outputs of your receiver.
