I'll echo the try before you buy comments. For me, It wouldn't matter a great deal what head was on the end of the club... ok, some look better than others and looking good to your eye is important. I too tried a friends new G5 on one hole - didn't just put it in the rough.. not even in the lake beside the rough but over the lake onto the other fairway... missing the middle of the target fairway by 90+ yards! With a suitable...

Driver Recommendation
Published (2009-11-22 01:09:00)
Hi, Zak. My advice would be to get rid of the driver you have. If, like myself, your driving is a bit erratic, I'd strongly recommend that you don't touch anything below 10.5 deg loft. Ping and Callaway do a good range of drivers up to about 15 deg. Ping G10's (recently replaced by the G15) are for sale new in Cork for around €199. But I think you should look at second hand drivers on ebay, especially British sellers....

Would be happy to be one of the guinea pigs for this! although fitters normally charge you for the service and deduct it from subsequent club purchases - so we might need a sponsor to cover that cost!

As far as balls go, if your a beginner, the cheaper the better. Your going to be losing a lot of them. Trust me, its no fun watching your 40 euro pro v1's splash into water. As for gloves, just find one that fits well and you like. They are plenty in the 10 euro range.

Played in only one of these before but it was slightly different. We had to take 3 clubs AND a putter to avoid damage to the greens. I have heard of 3 club games where one club must be a putter also. That would make it a lot more difficult Id say.

Get an Under Armour long sleeve mock... it's a great base layer. I bought one recently (~€40) and used it in Scotland and found it very warm. Under Armour seems to be popular on here too judging by recommendations. Put any (light) sweater you like on over it.
