Alternative to GW/Citadel paints

Gamers world have the privateer paints, they might be able to get the sets to order if privateer do them so shipping costs shouldn't be too bad if you can go that way. The shop on capel street is just The Model Shop they have remote controlled stuff, airfix models and model trains. A good bit of stuff that can be used for converting models or scratching building your own stuff. If you head north from capel street bridge it's on the...

Space Hulk (and Carcassonne)
Published (2009-12-20 01:32:00)
Its cool I managed to get both space hulk and carcassonne in gamers world. I went in to get carcassonne and asked him about space hulk. He admitted he had a copy in the back that he was keeping for something or other and said he would sell it. So I bought it! Thanks guys!

I really like the Privateer Press P3 paints. And the vallejo ones. If they seem a bit thick that's because they're better with a little thinning. Go into an art shop and ask for 'acrylic paint thinner'. A tiny bit, and some water, makes the paints: 1) Last longer on a palette before they dry up 2) Much easier to control 3) Generally better It also deals with the problem that hard-water (what we have in dublin) is not a good...

http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/Games-...prod_2448.html You can buy all the paints from the mega set here for only £122(138 euro) but you don't get the brushes and sand. That set you linked doesn't come with foundations and inks.

The model shop on capel street in dublin stocks those paints. I tried one or two and found them fairly thick but I was just starting so didn't water them down at all. They seem like good paints and I'd probably use them more whenever I start painting again. Privateer press have a range of paints as well and I think they do sets.

Gamersworld on Jervis street sells Carcassone, and a shed-load of expansions for it. They also sold Space-hulk, but that was a limited edition print-run, and they sold out FAST I doubt you can get that anywhere, except second hand, and apart from ebay I dunno where to point you really.

I'd recommend Gamers World, in dublin as your first port of call, but seeing as how you fancy a bit of online excitement, Maelstrom Games are a great site, fairly cheap too compared to some of the others. Then there's wayland games, og games, heresy miniatures etc. For historical wargaming, the flavour of the year seems to be Flames of War. Models are decent, rules seem to be good, ...

Probably ebay, but you need to pay attention to the photos, and don't trust users description of the painting quality. If you want something to your own specification then check out http://www.paintedfigs.com A whole army would be reasonably expensive though! Martin, the owner of Gamersworld on Jervis street used to offer painted figures as well. He likely still does. I think you doubled...
