I have only just started using weights so the program is very basic and I will be looking to change it regularly as I improve. I am looking to cut body fat, which is currently...

can a low fat cottage cheese be used in a shake as a replacement for whey after training? i know that its recommended at night due to its slow releasing protein but not sure if it would be suitable after training if not are there any other protein sources that could be used in a shake?

How soon after starting gym classes should a person see results. 5/6 classes per week of 45 mins aerobic/resistance. I've cut out a lot of pasta from my diet and in general am more aware of what I eat. And by results I mean the spare tyre in the middle reducing and more muscle tone.

Okay well I've made up my own workout program, it was a combination of a program that was made for me when I was on the U-18 irish basketball squad and spotting I use to do with a friend of mine who is a fitness instructor. So here is my program, it has produced great results for me, I have always had a good build but this program is defining and toning muscles and building them up...

Thought it would be more appropriate to post in this forum, but feel free to move. I know people in this forum are interested and making a genuine effort to eat more healthily, but I was wondering why we, as a society in general are so unhealthy? I am comparing ourselves to most other european countries (Except any of the UK ) the people that I have come across from Sweden, Germany, Spain ...

Basically wondering is it possible to get a fairly ripped 6 pack while piling on muscle to other parts of your body or is it one or the other? I figure its one or the other as you need to drop bodyfat for the abs to show and this is impossible if your trying to gain muscle on a surplus diet just trying to get some clarification on this. Thanks for your replys

Hi all, I have noticed my calves are quite chunky recently. It's not fat though, it's muscle!!! Is there any way to make my calf muscles smaller? I drink about 2 pints of full fat milk a day, should probably reduce this as I know protein is used for growth.

Hi, I am trying to bulk up at the moment and would just like your opnions on my diet and weight training plan. I am 6ft and 65kg and hope to put on at least 1 1/2 stone in lean muscle. I also have a very low body fat. The last time I was measured for it in the gym 2 weeks ao the trainer said my bodyfat % was risky, so I do need to increase this. My diet is 9am-Big bowl of muesli or...

I have noticed the past few weeks I have started getting small calluses at the top of my palms, just under my fingers, I presume from lifting (can't think of anything else!). They aren't really bad or anything and I'm sure other people wouldn't notice them but *I* do. And I'm worried they'll keep getting bigger! I've been lashing on the Neutrogena and it doesn't seem to be doing any good. Any ...

HOW TO SQUAT FOR HUGE ARMS By Stuart McRobert Adapted from his best-selling book BRAWN To build muscle mass, you must increase strength. It?s that simple. You will never get huge arms, a monstrous back, a thick chest, or massive legs without lifting heavy weights. I know that probably doesn?t come as a revelation to anyone. But despite how obvious it seems, far too many people (...

I am thinking switching gyms and joining Jackie Skelly in Ashbourne as it is more convienent for me. I have arranged to go in and have a look around, but they were very vague on the phone regarding membership fees for some reason.
