The temperature drop this evening was very noticable all right. Got rained on myself on my way home and it was coldest yet this winter.

It was John Humphrys they were having a go at, who hadn't been cycling a flat-pack bike. Well, to be fair, Anne Robinson just pseudo-sternly asked him "Why not?" and he said that he didn't need one, given his style of riding and that he reckoned motorists were more careful around him, and he made an allusion to the University of Bath study. They spent longer having a go at him because he cycles a pink lady's...

As an example on a cycle today I wore base layer, jersey and winter cycling jacket. This approximates what you seem to describe wearing while hiking. I wear full length cycling tights, wool socks, shoes and overshoes. You will be cold in shorts. On very cold days I add a buff, hat, full fingered gloves and my Assos airblock cycling jacket. Rain jacket in the wet. Also glasses stop your eyes watering in the cold or while descending.

As I understand it, this will not work.
Your current Shimano cassette will not fit on the campy hub.
If you got an 8-speed Campy cassette, the offset would be different (fixable with derailleur tweak) but the cassette wouldn't fit on the hub without a great deal of messing about .
A 9/10sp Campy cassette would obviously fit but you'd never get the indexing to work properly since the ...

I like The Killers' " All these things that I've done".
It reminds me of Lance:

And please before somebody says it, no all the streets here in Dublin are not far smaller than Copenhagen.
Just even forgetting about cycling (god forbid on the cycling forum!), look at Copenhagen's many massively wide pedestrian crossing vs Dublin's tiny crossings. The width given in Dublin for pedestrian crossings is tiny. Even the newly widened ones on College Green seem small compared to ...

I don't agree that blocking the streets is a way to gain respect from road users, hence you will never find me at a critical mass meeting.

I have the Cateye TL LD1100 Rear Light, which has 2 rows of LEDs. I keep one on constant and the other on flashing. The all round brightness is excellent. It takes a couple of AA batteries and is available from Wiggle:

You're entitled to take the lane if you're doing it for reasonable safety reasons. I don't really understand how he managed to push you right into a position between the two lanes.
I would normally take the lane as I enter the roundabout, then pull left after the first exit.
In any case, undertaking is illegal.
