Hi, Christians refers to God, Jesus with as He, His and not he and his. When did the capital H, first come into popular usage? In a literacy sense, was this technique used anywhere else before Christians adopted it. Regards

Well, I have been a Catholic all my life, and if I'm honest I don't believe in everything that I have been told. Now I do believe in God and that Jesus died for us as well as other things that I won't bore you with. Anyway, the point in this thread is I feel a little looked down on by non believers, I don't have a problem with them and their views at all, it would be boring if we all...

Two weeks ago I was taking a few days break in Houston, Texas with my family. We had to be at a conference in San Antonio on the Monday - so we decided to drive across a couple of days early, on the Saturday. I was dealing with some difficult work situations and was praying, "God, I really need you to do something special to show me that you are in control and work things together for good."...

This has been sparked by some of the commentary in the " Do athiests look down on you " thread but I didn't want to drag it OT. The word "faith" has become slippery in recent years - you can have faith in everything from a pop star to a football team. But most on here would probably accept a definition of faith as " a sincere belief that is not subject to rationality; a belief above and ...

I had thought about posting this on the Islam thread but my questions are really more about Christianity and Islam together. Basicly I was born a Catholic and I have spent some time in the Middle East. I have been looking at Christianity and Islam and how the 2 interlink (even the Jewish torah interlinks with christianity and Islam at some points ) When comparing the bible and the ...
